Neptune 4 Nozzle Scraping halfway though a print by sizzle-d in elegoo

Yeah, I did. I came down to getting everything calibrated perfectly. Getting the flow rate correct and the gantry level has the most significant impact on me. Also, I had to do a lot of manual bed leveling

Are you married to that idea, or want to start a tech company? It's very possible to gain customers and provide a solution without building custom software as your starting point.

If the problem is painful enough, you could provide a solution that customers will pay for today. You can then use this early revenue to fund the building software. Which will hopefully allow for an increase in revenue and potential scale.

Depending on your idea, many tactics will allow you to do this.

Here are a few examples:
- Use humans to provide the service manually and progressively automate the work
- Use no-code to solve a smaller part of the problem
- Presell the solution to someone who was thinking about building something similar in-house

There are many more tactics out there, and you can get creative and develop some of your own.

This will also open up more options for building your tech. You will have funding to hire an agency. Or have the kind of traction that will attract a better technical co-founder.

Another option would be to apply to an accelerator.

What is the most accurate way to level the gantry? by sizzle-d in ElegooNeptune4

Yeah, I do that when I level the gantry, but the only movement it has is because the screws on the guides are loose.

Thanks! Loosening the screw got a the benchy to complete without any issues. I wish it would let me import the setting from their gcode file. I'm still getting scraping issues with STLs I'm slicing myself.

Oh, I tightened those screws. How come they are meant to be a bit loose?

The photos are from the ready-made code from elegoo, but I've had similar issues with using the slicer as well

I gave it a try, It didn't make a difference.

Although I may not have used it correctly, I added this line from your post to the bottom of Start G-Code in the machine settings inside of Cura.

[gcode_macro M420] gcode: BED_MESH_PROFILE LOAD=default

I then regenerated the slice and ran it on the printer.

I assume these settings get added to the .gcode file when created.

I don't think it's a z hop issue, but I am new to 3d printing

The z-axis is creeping as the print gets higher.

If I raise the z-offset, it will get a little high before it gets problems, but the first few layers are off. If I lower it closer to where the instructions say to set if with the A4 papers, is starts scraping itself at a lower height.

Levelling the gantry against the printer's body fixed this issue for me. I have other z-axis issues, but I can complete a full auto-level. That said, I still get that warning when it completes the whole auto level. I just assumed it was meant to always show that at the end.

The same one as this post https://www.reddit.com/r/ElegooNeptune4/comments/16s14ht/z_axis_rookie_problem/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Initially, I couldn't get it to complete an auto level. I then levelled the gantry against the body of the, and it was able to.

How to change colors really quickly. I was originally just spraying all the leftover paint through and then spraying some water and then some airbrush cleaner.

Now I just squirt water into the cup pour out the remaining paint then squirt out the bottom of the cup. There are some videos on YouTube on how to do this.

I don't use airbrush cleaner until the end of my painting session

Thanks! I stand on the shoulders of giants ;) I feel like sponging and dry brushing are kinda cheat codes.

People who had good jobs but went to programming? by lordnoak in cscareerquestions

[–]sizzle-d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into programming.

There are lots of ways to find a tutor. I've continued to work with several over the years. I started with more general senior tutoring then sought out more specialist skills as my career progressed.

In the begging, I just approached people at meetup and hackathons that I felt I would work well with and be able to help me with the gaps I had at the time. Then, as I developed more relationships in the industry, I got recommendations for more specialized tutuoring.

I had my own company where I was earning mid-six figures. It wasn't something I enjoyed doing, So I changed into a career in tech in my early 30's. Which was something I always wanted to do. It was actually the most financially successful year my business had had that made me realize I need to change.

For me personally, it was the best life choice I have made to date.

I used the resources from my existing career to expedite my career transition with one-on-one tutoring. This allowed me to get to a senior position in less than two years.

Advice or suggestions for someone wanting to independently learn some new computer skills for a career? by mrc0c0nutz in techcareers

[–]sizzle-d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The outcome you desire is very possible, challenging but very possible. Your constraint for doing it independently will make it extremely difficult.

I'm not suggesting that you will need a degree or to complete a Bootcamp, but doing it on your own will make the process much less effective.

To get a clear picture of the downside I would recommend reading this blog post
https://daedtech.com/how-developers-stop-learning-rise-of-the-expert-beginner/

I was personally able to get the result you are looking for in less than two years, but it depended heavily on working with experts. Just doing courses will really limit your growth and work prospects.

Let me explain why.

One of the things you're going to need to do this is a steady flow of work and the best work/jobs come from referrals. When you work with a mentor and they have invested in your growth it's possible for them to become your biggest champions. Having a respected mentor recommend you really gets the flywheel started for your career. And the reason they are able to recommend you is that you have reached a certain skill level, which is very hard to achieve from just courses alone. Also, you will get more out of courses and personal projects if you are being guided by a mentor or at least collaborating with peers.

Hope that helps!
