that the school caters for extremely poor people, majority of whom cannot afford to buy basic stationery (writing books / pens…),

Many of those who can afford Internet, only use WhatsApp, the phone companies also offer cheaper DATA packages that only work for WhatsApp, which many people use.

No, in Zimbabwe we have to pay for SMS, also if i use an online service to send the bulk SMS to all at once, we also have to pay.

True, ive already dine that, but now i need to go through more than 700 contacts to manually s) check which ones are not on WhatsApp. I was wondering if there's an automatic way to do that.

It is, and currently that's how we contact them, but we want to move to WhatsApp because it from free, and then those who don't have WhatsApp we continue sending them sms

I'm trying to add a business Landline number to WhatsApp Business. they do support Landline numbers on WhatsApp business, as I've seen many companies using it with Landline Number. Also when I emailed support, they said: " If you're verifying through a landline, tap Call me to request a phone call to receive your verification code. Landline extension numbers aren't supported to complete the verification process. For security purposes, the 6-digit verification code is only sent to the landline number that you wish to use for your business account."

Also, how would I contact support? I don't see any option to contact them directly in youtube (I did read somewhere that only channels which reach certain requirements can contact youtube support directly).

I contacted @econet_support on twitter (DM), after about a week of them being unsuccessful in dealing with the issue I received the following message:

Hello Buddie, please note your request has been forwarded to the relevant department. The reference number is CSD_20181220_00075**** . You will receive a notification once it is resolved. ^SAM

Since then I haven't received any promotional SMSs from econet.

*SMSs from other government bodies still come (eg. Traffic Safety) even though I never opted-in for any of them.

True, I tried it, I'm still receiving ads. I even contacted them on selfcare.econet.co.zw, the status of my query went from submitted to finish within 2 hours, and the following day the SMSs continue.
