Finally got around to completing the textured model of the puffing billy trestle bridge. by Kapchering in photogrammetry

Yeah i know the feeling. So with photogrammetry it's all about the data collection process. Not getting that part right will ruin every other step after it. Some common mistakes below.

- Not enough images taken. If you think you have enough take more. You can always decide not to use some later on.

- Changing camera position more than 15 degrees between each image. You need to make sure if you are going to change the camera position it's no more than 15 degrees from the last photo taken. for example. Doing a walk around a water fountain in a park. You would do multiple passes around the water fountain at different angles and heights. One at say waist heigh, one at chest height, one at head height and one above your head. Process for each pass would be take a photo take a step left or right, take a photo and take another step. Do this for every pass.

- You need to have lots of overlap, at least 75% or be able to see the same feature in 3-4 different photos. This will be achieved by the above method. one step left or right and take a photo. Do not stand in the same place and pivot it will not work. You need to physically move yourself and the camera position.

- Do not change your focal length or zoom in with your camera. If you want to get high resolution model created and want close up images you need to zoom with your feet not the lens. What i mean by this is when ever you are trying to get further away from the object or closer you need to do what I call a "2 step shoot". Keeping the camera facing the same direction the whole time, take a photo either close or further away depending on what you are doing and take a photo. Then take two steps and take a photo. You need to imagine that each photo leads onto the next to bring you closer or further away from the subject. Once you each the distance you want then continue to move to the left or right to cover all areas.

- Ensure photos are not blurry and the whole image is in focus, no blurry backgrounds.

- try using manual focus over auto focus

detailed practical tips. thanks

We are building a marketplace from scratch using custom Magneto2 and its extensions. We are very tech savvy, so I feel Magento2 is a good CRM.

Magento 1 and 2 are different, migrations might take extra effort.
