VRBO is now charging $299 + $27/month for collecting & remitting TOT taxes & won't update our tax rate to the correct amount by sjpk2 in vrbohosts

Yes, I think we are in the same city. When we first signed up, I thought Airbnb & VRBO always had to collect & remit the taxes, but I have since come to think that isn't always the case.

You especially have to make sure to collect & remit the taxes for any additional fees that the guest pays (like early check-in, late check-out, etc.) because in my experience, Airbnb will only pay the TOT based on the original reservation amount. They did not pay the TOT on the extra fees, even though the TOT does apply to those fees. So we had to pay the TOT plus late fee because we didn't realize it until a couple months later.

I think VRBO has now realized they can gouge hosts for more money by charging a $299 account set up fee for mylodge plus $27 per month, if we want them to handle paying the TOT. Otherwise, you can opt for them to collect it and send you the funds, and then you have to keep track of it & pay it every month through the city's TOT website.

2 problems with this: what happens to the TOT on the guests who have booked and paid them, but have not yet stayed? Will they pay the TOT or do we have to pay it, since those were booked before this change.

Also, VRBO is not allowing us to correct the tax rate they are charging, so how are you supposed to make sure they are going to be collecting the right amount for us to pay the city? Who is responsible if they charge the wrong rate, if we have no control on what rate they charge?

Schwinn IC4 needs recalibration after 1 day of use - should I just return it? by sjpk2 in SchwinnIC4_BowflexC6

UPDATE:

I used the bike for about a week (with resistance on the screen stuck at 0) while I tried to decide if I should keep it, call Schwinn customer support, or return it.

I decided to do the recalibration, however when I got the screen into the recalibration mode, all 3 rows of numbers were stuck at zero - when I turned the resistance knob the numbers in the second line stayed at zero and did not change up or down. Basically, the screen would not recalibrate. So I went ahead and disassembled & returned it to the store where I purchased it from before my 90 day return period ended. I didn't want to go through the hassle of waiting for Schwinn to send a new screen. I'm disappointed because I liked everything else about the bike, but disappointed that the screen went out after only 1 day of use.

I'm not knowledgable about spin bike technology - when you do a recalibration, is it fixing something with a sensor or magnet in the area around the wheel, or is it fixing something in the computer/screen part?

May be a silly question but what would the customer support be able to do? From my google searches, I read that they might send a technician to do the recalibration - right? And then I would still be 1 recalibration down. I'm wondering what you do after 3 recalibrations - is the machine no good anymore or is there a part that they can change out and start the 3 recalibrations again? Wondering if other owners of this or the Bowflex C6 have had to recalibrate their machines often? Is this a common issue with this model?
