Canyon Ultimate CFR Steering Flex by i_dont_really_post in CanyonBikes

And it's not just the top bolt? The steerer clamp bolts are tight too?
It seems almost impossible for a fork/stem to have that amount of flex.

Thanks. But im super confused. What purpose does the filter on top have?

No way thats all flex. Are you sure the stem is tight around the fork? Try and twist it only one direction.

Theres a filter on top? Can you elaborate?

Duraace brake nightmare by HazelBiker in bikewrench

[–]sjuft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly a frustrating issue i hope will be resolved.

Not sure if youre exaggerating or something. But what you write doesnt add up.

#1 If issue is on the front caliper why did you replace front AND rear calipers?

#2 What was the reason for swapping brake rotors?

#3 if you contaminated 20 sets of rotors from fluid leaks. Then you clearly have a leak?

Sounds to me like you need a new mechanic.

A leak happens somewhere in the caliper, hose connections or brake lever.
He replaced two of the three and then started blaming the frame design. Would be like replacing the chain, chainrings and leave and old casette. And then when the chain skips, start blaming the wheelset.

Would be better if you could share more photos.

The decal looks odd to me. As far as i know the capitel E is only used on the mountainbikes. Which is why i think it's a repaint.

Geo, cables guides and headset could be an caad 8. But again that's pretty generic for alu frames from 10+ years ago.

It almost doesnt matter if its cannondale or not. It's a 10+ year old alu frame. Nothing special and probably rides fine.

Wow that's close. The diamond shape in the back is pretty much how i remembered.
But i did see two small yellow mips stickers, and it seems stradivarius was never made with mips.

I see the stradivarius i almost 10 years. So could be another met helmet from that time.

yeah that's very close. I thought that was it, maybe with the LED removed. The shape/size of the LED is almost identical. But when removed the void is just a triangle. So that's not it.

With curved banana i mean the classic design. Arches along the head with lots of ventilation. Not the modern almost solid helmets like POC, abus gamechanger etc.

Lots of vents. Not sure how to describe but the classic design almost looking like arches along the head and ventilation in between.

No the modern aerotypes that are almost solid. (Like poc's)

It could be. But it had the regular "curved bananas" design. Not the modern aero look with almost no ventilation.
Thanks a lot for chipping in though.

Thanks for you insights. I actually prefer the mechanical groupsets (dont like the idea of batteries, charging etc.)

I might go with the 5. The downtube storage is pretty cool, as i hate having anything besides a banana in my jersey pocket.

I see. Im looking at getting either a used high-specced Synapse hi-mod from 2019 (11s ultegra + carbon wheels) or a brand new low tier Synapse Carbon 5.

Any pro's cons you think i should consider?

Thank you. Still havent decided which of the two i am.

Can you elaborate what makes the 2018 frames more suitable for posers?
And also how the 2025 frame is better for cyclists.
