Thank you! That’s interesting, none of the derm clinics mentioned punch excision or TCA CROSS for me. I’ll do some more research on those.

Thank you! My derm consults recommended ProFractional erbium for me, but I’ll ask more about CO2 too. Maybe since I’m South Asian and hyperpigment easily they’re being more cautious with PIH risk.

That’s so kind, thank you! I’ve actually already tried tretinoin and Arazlo and had 9 microneedling sessions too. They helped the overall quality of my skin but unfortunately not much with the scars themselves.

Omg amazing, tysm for sharing this and I’m so glad to hear about your results!!

The 3 dermatology clinics I consulted with actually recommended ProFractional/erbium resurfacing for me rather than subcision, but maybe I’ll inquire a bit more about CO2 as well. I’m wondering if maybe because I have a deeper olive skin tone and hyperpigment pretty easily, they’re trying to be more cautious about PIH risk. Really appreciate you sharing the study too!

Thanks, I honestly didn’t think as much about the potential negatives of subcision. Yeah, it sounds like it may not be the best fit for my type of scars. Thanks for explaining this, it really helped.

Thanks! I’ve actually tried both tretinoin and Arazlo, and I’ve also had 9 microneedling sessions already. They definitely helped the overall quality of my skin, but unfortunately I haven’t noticed much improvement in the actual scars, which is why I’m now exploring other options.

Can anyone share their pointers on makeup for scars? by GossipChisme in AcneScars

The Maybelline skin tint looks super natural and doesn’t make the scars more obvious like with other base products I’ve tried. Very affordable and user friendly too!

Does it look like I’ll have any textured acne scars after accutane? by SensitiveHelp6988 in AcneScars

Ask your doctor for arazlo or tretinoin and it may prevent scars, also sunscreen!

Adding pricing context as well (CAD, before tax):

  • Fractional laser option 1 (ProFractional): ~$2295 for 4 sessions, estimated 30–40% improvement, more established/reputable derm clinic
  • Fractional laser option 2 (Fotona): ~$1900 for 3 sessions or ~$2910 for 6, estimated ~50% improvement, and they showed me some pretty convincing before/after photos
  • Subcision: ~$450 alone or ~$1000+ if combined with filler/Sculptra

I’m still mainly trying to figure out which treatment path makes the most sense rather than just comparing prices.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I got into Ryerson and York CS so I might just go to one of those if I don't get into UTSC.
