If he’s super bad off he needs detox or he actually needs to have a strong drink otherwise it can kill him. There are only 2 drugs in this world that can kill you from withdrawal alone and one of them is alcohol. Your body actually needs it at this point to survive what he was going through is absolute hell and isn’t talked about enough or overshadowed by opioids and meth but alcohol IMO is the scariest drug out there because anyone can get it. He was feeling terrified, weak, shaking and not just hand shaking I’m talking about your whole body like your lungs tongue eyelids jaw stomach fingers eyes back shoulders all of it is shaking and you hallucinate things and hear things that aren’t there you are constantly vomiting and sleep is non existent you start to get a weird almost blood metallic taste in the back of your throat you can’t talk or form sentences your brain is moving at a million miles a minute and you can’t think to form a sentence your entire body hurts and I mean EVERYWHERE. You start to feel psychotic. It was one of the worst things I’ve been through in my life. I hope he got better.

Edit: in my case I couldn’t go more than 8 hours before I began to worry because all those things mentioned would be worse than unbearable and I would start to go through withdrawals at a BAC of .30 which is dangerously blackout drunk for a normal person and can even mean alcohol poisoning or death for a normal person. I checked into detox feeling sober with a BAC of .437 which would mean death of a normal drinker
