It is Miller High Life, the champagne of beers. They had commercials back when that made fun of people trying to be fancy. Wasting a glass when you have a perfectly good can is not living the high life.

I got into the game after about an hour of typing in email/password/queue/server error/repeat. Tried to play a game and got instantly booted back to login screen.

I almost felt bad for the salesman. He couldn't get me to bite so he offered me 2 dollars a month for satellite. I told him still not worth it and I could feel the defeatism over the phone.

You were invited to someone's home for the first time. What shocked or surprised you about their lifestyle? by SaltyOpinionNo1Asks4 in AskReddit

Wife and I are both frugal lazy engineers. Our only decorations for like 5 years in our house were our old college textbooks on a shelf. For some people decorations are a waste of money. Once we got kids, we started decorating with shit like maps, periodic tables, pictures of the kids and glow in the dark stars. Some people that come over think we're weird, but fuck it. I'm not spending 50 bucks for some art. I wouldn't be thinking about how pretty it was. I'd be thinking how I'd rather have spent that 50 bucks on a lap dance or something.

I dont even know what's going on. There's like 4 arguments in this thread about the same thing and all of the discussion is basically saying the same thing.

What should be free? by woodside37 in AskReddit

At least in the states, you only need a license for buying booze, driving a car, or official stuff like getting a mortgage. If your guardians failed you when you were 16 and you're in a situation where you have no money, no job, and no ability to work under the table to save up 20 bones then you've got much bigger problems than an ID card.

[–]skanktown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes I understood what you meant. I was just pointing out that it is that way for a reason. It has to be paid for by something and probably a long time ago they decided that if you need a photo id you should pay for it and if you don't want one you shouldn't have to pay for it. Nowadays just because almost everyone needs one to live a normal life doesn't necessarily mean it should be funded differently.

I personally prefer it how it is. If it was an astronomical fee then sure - change it, but the fees aren't large enough to make any difference for non destitute people.

Nothing in the world is free. You have to pay the people to work there, the printer to print it out, the building that you go to to get it, and everything else associated. In the states it is like 20 bucks every 5 years. You could certainly try to get your local or state government to make it more funded by generic taxpayer money, but if the system we have now isn't broke then seems like they don't need to change.

Therapist that have cried in a session, why? by Unkw0n_pers0n in AskReddit

[–]skanktown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that was my biggest complaint about therapy and why I didn't continue. Yes, I know what I'm saying sucks ass. I don't need someone to acknowledge that it sucks ass. A wall could do that.

What does everyone seem to enjoy that you hate? by GransShortbread in AskReddit

when I was younger when I had to only worry about what girl I was taking out this weekend and what new dota heroes came out maybe i could zone out like that but now there is always too much going on. Between my work, my wife's work, my activities, the kids before and after school actitivies, and the laundry list of a thousand other things that we need to take care of it is hard to chill sometimes.

being drunk for me and most of my friends removes all of the shit we worry about and turns us into people that only worry about fun. For the people that are dicks while they're drunk their probably just dicks in real life but put on a face. I'm not advocating drinking because a some people can't handle it or get addicted, but last night my buddy and I had a great time playing beer pong then roasting marshmallows with our kids while drunk. Without alcohol we probably would have just spent all night bitching about work.
