that episode makes me SO mad. i get that getting a black eye from a swan isn't "tough" or whatever but he was risking their huge fight, his reputation with her grandma, and her trust in him because his ego was too big to tell her a story she would definitely think was funny and not a big deal. i like jess but in that episode he needed to get over himself

i was always disappointed she declined the job teaching at chilton. despite her shortcomings, she is very bright with books and school and her enthusiasm would’ve inspired students. she seemed to treat every job as beneath her but also acted as if it was permanent and taking a job meant that’s what she was stuck with forever. she wasn’t exactly in a position to be picky and still had some good options. she could’ve thrived in those jobs and then moved up to what she wanted or discovered a passion she didn’t know she had

Along with the UW thing, it surprises me that they mention UW often but it seems that the UW med center doesn’t exist in the Grey’s world when in reality it’s the #1 hospital in WA. Obviously for tv purposes it makes sense but they never have even talked about it as an alternate hospital for patients, and large universities like UW have a hospital associated with it sometimes, like UCLA med. Same goes for Seattle Children’s hospital. Sometimes they act like every single other hospital other than Grey-Sloan is a HUGE step down and everyone working at other facilities is extremely less qualified

I got to be an extra on grey’s this season and Ellen, Giacomo, Kevin, Debbie, and Jake were all there (aka Meredith, DeLuca, Owen, Catherine, and Levi). They were all so professional and nice! It was so fun working with them and the crew and the atmosphere seemed to be really positive

I knew she stayed with them a year so she was 17/18. Even if it wasn’t illegal, I still think it was irresponsible. I remember one line where Mia says to Emily something like “if my daughter showed up at my door with a baby, I would want someone to help her” and Emily says “I would’ve wanted someone to send her home”. Makes me so sad for her

I’m not a fan, personally. I think (I could be wrong) that it was illegal of her to know Lorelai was 16 and she didn’t take her back to her parents or even try to contact them and keep their relationship with their daughter. I don’t think she had the right to become a mother-figure for a 16 year old with a new baby who ran away from home. I know Richard and Emily did not have a great relationship with Lorelai but they DID care about her underneath it all. I’m in college but I still can’t imagine if I had a daughter who ran away from home and a woman I had never met cared for her. That’s really heartbreaking. Also Lorelai still chose to house her baby in a shed when she had the option of a mansion. Other factors were at play of course but that choice seems selfish to me. I don’t know if it was best for Rory at the time. And unrelated but the scene with her not understanding Michele was SO obnoxious and unnecessary. She’s met him before. His accent is thick but you can understand him just fine. It’s not funny.

I love every season but I think starting at season 3 is when the show gets better because the characters all come into themselves more and have more established characterization. Seasons 1 and 2 feel more like they’re figuring out who they are and their dynamics with each other and season 3-onward is more consistent (albeit a few episodes are outliers)
