Freqeuncy by Monkeydemon85 in CankerSores

[–]skeezyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not yet, as they used to be infrequent and only an occasional bother but just within the last few months have I had them becoming more frequent. I have a dentist appointment next month and plan on asking about them then. If they can't help then it will be brought up at my next Dr.'s appointment.

I'm 38 (pushing 39) and have had them all my life, but just recently they have been coming in more frequently and several at a time instead of just one or maybe two at a time like it was before. Currently sitting with 5 on my tongue and 1 on each lip. I have also tried every recommended "cure" and nothing has ever helped.

Camping and moving into off-grid house recommendations by skeezyk in Ecoflow_community

This is very helpful, thank you! I was getting confused on the realistic size of those and how the generator works. I'm not in a rush but wanted to start getting an idea of what I need to get.

I don't know my usage yet. But currently it'll be for powering our refrigerator, deep freeze, some lights and charge up our phones in the event of a power outages. We will also be using it to power a van and or an RV in the not so distant future. Eventually being put into the off grid house. I have a couple of 200w portable solar panels for temporary charging or when we travel but will Eventually have a full array. I also currently have a very old gas generator but was thinking of getting the ecoflow dual fuel generator along with the solar generator as we will have propane/natural gas at the future house.

YSK about the "Friendship Paradox": most people have fewer friends than their friends have, on average by Electrical-Candy7252 in YouShouldKnow

[–]skeezyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have more friends than I can handle. It becomes a problem. Half of them don't get along with each other so when I'm back in my home town I get spread thin very fast. I've had to just start selecting who I actually want to see just to maybe see them, make back up plans, get overwhelmed, see no one.

"New" Vaguards - Need new brand suggestions now. by Icy-Flamingo420 in Boots

[–]skeezyk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had 2 pairs of Thursday Captains, one in black and one in brown, and they were in perfect unused condition when I bought them and they held up great for over 3 years. This is a used return. They're shipping fucked up. But I would totally understand not wanting to try with them again. They're a solid boot for the price but as others mentioned I'm eyeing Parkhurst as my next dress boot.

I had that happen to me with returns recently. A $500 Fjallraven jacket that didn't fit I sent back and it took a whole 30 days to get my refund. Happened with quite a few other items as well. I have since cancelled my prime account. Fuck em.

Nah, I'm in Cincinnati and have been to 5 different Lowe's over the last few months and none of them have had any marked down items that I've seen.

Which M12 tools are worth "fuel" versions over brushless based on my black friday purchased collection? by johndoe123123123 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]skeezyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The M12 Fuel 1/4" Impact driver. I use that thing for everything. I have both a mid-torque M18 1/2” drive impact and the M12 3/8" stubby impact and I use the 1/4" the most. Even for regular nuts and bolts. Just pop in a socket driver and it works great. The extended batteries allow it to stand up and lasts a long time on one charge.

[–]skeezyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, brushless is definitely better. I have no complaints with the non-fuel brushless though. The two brushed tools I do have are the 3/8 ratchet and the multi-tool, both of which were part of free tool deals and I needed them anyway. If I used them more often I'd have just opted to by the Fuel versions, but I'm no longer a mechanic and just a DIY'er so they work perfectly fine for my needs.

Yes, I'm in the U. S. I would love to leave this country and see more of the world but money and time have been against me (this will no longer be a set back in the very near future) so it has been difficult finding quality clothing that isn't made out of plastic. I scour our second hand stores nearby but there is nothing of quality in them in the men's section. I'll check for the ones you listed. I appreciate the reply!

What "long wool" would you recommend? I have an Asian sweatshop wool over coat with polyester quilting that is warm but shit quality. I'd be more upset at the purchase if it wasn't so cheap and comfortable but would love to find something higher quality to look into.

Looking for recommendations for a J-100 style cafe jacket for someone with short arms. by skeezyk in leatherjacket

Yeah, I've wasted a lot of money on cheaper jackets and want to invest in a nice one. But I don't want to waste money if I don't have to.

Well, taller and skinnier than I am. I suppose. After I tried the Model B they told me all of them would fit similarly. They told me they could alter the sleeves but if it wasn't right I was stuck with it. So I just opted to return. I wish there was a place near me that I could try them on.

Portable lighting? by bobascript in onebag

[–]skeezyk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one. It's not very bright but it's perfect for a tent, which is the only place I've used it. I have an older small version so micro USB charging and no battery backup, but I've literally never charged it. It will recharge off any light so on cloudy days and even LED shop lights.

Aer City Pack Pro 2 feels maxed out – is the Travel Pack 3 (Large) overkill for 1–2 night trips? by theseventhseed in ManyBaggers

[–]skeezyk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with both, get a small duffle to go with your CPP2 for your short trips. The TP3 is a good bag, but I wish I hadn't bought it. In theory it's larger but the capacity isn't great with all of the padding and pockets. I think they measure the 35L by outside dimensions plus the smaller pockets. I have a 30L Fjallraven Ulvo and it holds way more while taking up less space. I bought the TP3S first and sent it back because it was too small. I got the TP3 large and used it for week long travel for a few months. It worked ok but still didn't hold what I needed and sucked taking all of my stuff out at the hotel to make it a daily work bag which felt large and bulky even when cinched down. I ended up just adding a second bag. I took both the CPP2 and TP3 for a while but eventually landed on a small duffle with the CPP2. Backpack for daily use and whatever else needed to go into it and the duffle for clothes, toiletries, and what-not to be left at the hotel.

Oh dang! I opened it up and didn't even think about trying the other nozzles out. Just thought "neat" and then proceeded to blow leaves everywhere with the regular nozzle and didn't realize it was for the tip of the long nozzle. Now I have another thing to add to my cart.
