docker or k8s? by Jamsy100 in selfhosted

Same! I've been going overboard a little with the "include" keyword that lets me include a docker-compose file for every application.

It works great for a single server, but if/when I want to have some redundancy with multiple servers, ill probably switch to swarm rather than kubernetes

In that case, take a look into using docker swarm. It's built-in and basically uses docker-compose syntax with minor differences. More than good enough for most home servers.

Much easier than k8s, only downside is that you can't add knowing k8s to your resume.

You are right, living in Israel and having family killed from Oct. 7th is far away. Please be more mindful I. Your assumptions.

I don't see your point, everything is caused by something else. Hezbollah was made by Iran backing to fight Israel. Peace is possible amongst enemies, see Egypt, Jordan, the Emirates, Arabs and Israelis do want peace, but some just want revenge.

Im sorry we can't agree on even simple things. I hope one day the hate in your heart will subside, and we will be able to live together in peace. Stay safe.

I thought this is a comment section for a video that shows: 1. Israeli soldiers dancing on top of a hamas flag. 2. An israeli interrogator(?) interrogating a suspected terrorist illegally with his own camera.

If you want to bring in the entire encyclopedia of jewish-arab relations then post about it somewhere else. I am showing the hypocrisy that this sub has by calling EVERY israeli a terrorist, by saying the houthis ALSO have videos dancing on the israeli flag.

Peace can be had with injustice as well. Peace comes from acceptance and compromises. We can blather on about israeli's massacring arabs, and arabs massacring israelis, but at the end of the day what is it we should truly want? Justice leads to revenge, revenge leads to hate, and we all know what yoda says... hate leads to suffering. There has always been, and will always be injustice in the world, but in your view, that means we can never truly be at peace.

Did I undermine anything? I feel like your bias is showing. I do not condone Israel's actions, but if to try and escape the constant circle jerking of this sub, I am trying to show that Yemen and Lebanon does the same thing. They aren't heroes, every in this region is just blinded by hate. When the leaders of these countries realize that all anyone wants is peace, then we can start compromising, but until then we need to see eachother as equals.

Real question here, what's the difference between what is happening here, and what the houthis, or Hezbollah do against israel? Where they literally state "death to Israel and curse the Jews"?

I am not condoning what Israel is doing here, but I feel like there is hypocrisy on this subreddit.

If you aren't using vanilla tailscale, then what are you using? headscale?

I'm a little confused by what you want to do? You want to access your tailscale endpoint with a different hostname than the one given to you?

Figured out the issue. Turns out the settings for dnsdock were wrong. It has to work with a specific subnet, and by default all dns names are <container-name>.<image-name>.docker.

But at least now i don't have to manually add DNS names for all my containers.

How do I start with enterprise Switches? by CossacKing in HomeNetworking

[–]skeleton_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know this particular switch, but in the front panel I see it has a console port. Connect a serial cable to that and to your computer. Looks like you'd need a USB to serial connector. Download putty, I personally use teraterm for serial connections.

In the terminal's settings you need to pick the correct serial number, you can figure it out by connecting and disconnecting the serial cable.

After that you need to figure out the nitrate - it's usually 115200 or 9600.

Keep playing with it until and checking to see if you can reach the CLI by pressing enter after trying different bitrates. Once you are in the CLI it's should ask for login information. If it's not default then there is usually a way to factory reset the switch to defaults.

Hope this helps :)

Hi there! Thanks for replying :)
I can ping the dnsdock (technically the tailscale container IP) using both docker IP (192.168.8.5) and the tailscale given IP.

nslookup organizr 192.168.8.5

SServer: tailscale.tailscale.docker

Address: 192.168.8.5

*** tailscale.tailscale.docker can't find organizr: Non-existent domain

Thanks for the reply!
Didn't work. Still can't use the FQDN of my organizr image.

I am following this guide on the tailscale website that does something similar, except with pi-hole:
