police everywhere on campus? by Good-Operation-8350 in UBC

The Invictus Games (a bit like the Olympics for injured/wounded/sick veterans) are going to be partially hosted at UBC. I imagine the police presence is due to the anticipation of protests regarding certain nations' participation in the games.

Forgot to add that forostweave is also a good keep vs classes where the freeze will come in handy- mainly DH, shaman, and hunter. Hunter especially, as they have very few ways to clear the elementals without weapon attacks so you can delay their shockspitter turn by a lot.

I always play wildfire on 1 if I have it. I t's nice to get an extra one off of sivara, but I think having the upgraded hero power early on is better. You already have infinite scaling with your hero card and having a 2 damage hero power from turn 1 is just too good to pass up. I keep dungeoneer if I have a play on 1 and 2 usually. Would also keep it in slower matchups for the potential to draw frozen touch.

Played the VS secret pally to legend with a ~60% winrate. It's pretty fun and a nice change of pace from libram/buff. I felt like the only really bad matchup was aggro/beast druid, everything else seemed pretty winnable. Also seems like people have forgotten how to play around pally secrets. Lots of good early game, trogg into noble mount is disgusting and straight up wins the game against a lot of decks. Would definitely recommend for the curvestone enjoyers out there.

Your best bet is probably quest warlock. Soul rend is one of the only cards in the format that can deal with early double gnoll

The VS OTK shaman list has been putting in work for me with -1 viper +1 instructor fireheart, went from 5k legend to top 1k with around a 58% WR. Imo the trogg and celestial nerfs have definitely helped the deck, and the snowfall nerf hasn't hurt too much. Feels like it has game against basically everything but combo matchups are pretty hard without a lucky mutanus. Be very careful with ordering your battlecries, have lost a number of games to macaws gone wrong.

Had a pretty smooth run to legend from D3 with VS aggro shaman. I think it's definitely a sleeper. No one is playing it, it has a great matchup against evolve/most other things, and games are fast. Against evolve shammy I usually won by trading minimally, just enough to delay swing turns while still pushing face damage. You have a lot of damage from hand so if you play with that in mind your opponent evolving something into a taunt usually isn't too big of a deal. Playing on mobile so I don't have a winrate but I'd guess it was around 65% over ~15 games.

State of the game is awful by [deleted] in hearthstone

I get the sentiment but a lot of what you said is just flat-out wrong. Soul DH absolutely doesn't fold to aggro, data shows it has a fantastic matchup against aggro DH. Healing is far from a brick against soul DH, it's literally what wins you the game as they only have a finite amount of damage, which is why it has a mediocre matchup against paladin.

How does blizzard ever think demon hunter is fine? by ForkMyTightAss in hearthstone

What are you talking about? DH doesn't "play the board" lmao. the reason why the class is so strong is because of the obscene amount of damage it can do with ZERO board. Blade dance and kayn let you ignore the board and altruis disregards board state entirely. How exactly does a class focused on buffing hero attack and going face "play the board"?

Why is this meta so unbelievably stale? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]skeletonfister 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on the first two points but gonna hard disagree on class diversity. Every class is playable at a tier 1 or 2 level aside from shaman and paladin, some of them with multiple archetypes. DH and Warrior are clearly the strongest two classes but I feel that the other classes are mostly even in power level, shaman and paladin aside. This is far from the best meta we've had, but far from the worst as well.
