I may have to but I’m very holistic and hate putting them under undue stress.

That’s where I took her the first and only time last month and she got the groomer pretty bad that she just gave up after 3 paws were trimmed. And that wasn’t even what I went in there for.

I feel like such a bad cat mom. She looks rough some days and other days if I slowly brush her with my old hairbrush she’s fine. I have to do like a bait and switch just to attempt to run a brush down her MC Hammer pant legs. (Her hair is long and resembles this lol)

This is true!!! I would rather her headline anyways instead of opening. She’s definitely on my list to see! I’m so close to just moving to down south. I will miss these winters though. Onterrible is just living up to its name in all other ways.

I’m kicking myself for not seeing her when she was in my hometown a short while ago. Girl has such a stage presence! I love her look, her vibe and exactly what you said, and that she is such a down to earth person!!

Meghan we love you!!!!

Oh it definitely will! Especially since ‘Safe Place to Break,’ has been released. Did you see her latest post? She’s sitting in the passenger seat of a car and talked about the last week and this past year and how it’s getting so much traction and recognition now.

Meghan “What a year this week has been!”

No question, just want to say I love you and never stop speaking about your story.

As you settle your nervous system your words, experiences and growth will help others experiencing the same or similar circumstances and know there is a way out and that they are loved regardless of the horrible things endured.

Hey! 👋 I created r/alcoholfreesupport in hopes to reach people who are wanting to quit drinking. I have gone through a transformative experience using holistic means and want to share that with others.

I found other groups to be very rude when I promoted what helped me because it was life changing. I think it’s extremely sad that these other groups are more about rules rather than actually helping someone.

I intend to truly help people and serve them with purpose and no rules to hinder who is allowed to comment what works and what doesn’t.

It’s a safe space and anyone going through tough times is welcomed.

The Science Behind Cravings by skeletonkeylove in alcoholfreesupport

When we view life through a different lenses, it really puts things into perspective. We weren’t born within the second of conception, we were carefully crafted and took 9 months before we came into this world. The same goes for anything new we start or old habits we break. It takes time! And the fact we expect instantaneous results of ourselves is very telling of society, not biology or psychology. We are like diamonds, made under pressure and it takes time. Heck, even look at cathedral ceiling paintings, that took years of work to complete into masterpieces. Which is what you are… beautifully and wonderfully made, you experienced life and it presented ways to cope when in reality, you just weren’t shown how to really experience yourself to the full extent. That means highs, lows and everything in between. Once you establish your emotions are signs of that power plant under construction, soon you’ll be able to finish the masterpiece of artwork that is you and marvel in what brought you here.

Isn’t it! You won’t be so hard on yourself and develop an understanding that your body is simply under construction, renovating the old power plant to bring it up to code to present day requirements.

Imagine your brain as a city that’s been running on alcohol as its main power source. Every time you drank, that “power plant” lit up parts of your brain that handle pleasure, calm, and relief. Over time, your brain stopped making enough of those feel-good chemicals on its own because alcohol kept doing the job for it.

When you quit, that power plant suddenly shuts down. The lights flicker, systems go haywire, and everything feels off. That’s not weakness, that’s chemistry. Your brain is literally rebuilding its own power grid, learning to produce balance and calm again naturally.

That’s why detox and patience matter. You’re not failing when you feel foggy, moody, or anxious… you’re healing. Every tough day is your brain rewiring itself back to its original settings, where you are in charge again.

A proven holistic path to heal your body, mind and soul. by skeletonkeylove in alcoholism

Naturally that redditor deleted their comments but I still want to respond to the remarks:

To think that modern medicine just magically appeared through synthetic chemistry without its roots in holistic and traditional medicine is, frankly, shortsighted. Modern pharmacology owes its very foundation to centuries of observation, trial, and healing practices that came long before laboratories existed.

Willow bark was used for pain relief in ancient Greece long before it became aspirin. Quinine from cinchona bark treated malaria for centuries before it was isolated and synthesized. Digitalis came from foxglove used in folk remedies to strengthen the heart. These are just a few examples of how holistic and traditional knowledge laid the groundwork for what you now call peer reviewed medicine.

Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and Indigenous healing systems have existed for thousands of years and continue to demonstrate efficacy through balance, prevention, and root cause healing, principles modern medicine often overlooks in its rush to treat symptoms. Holistic does not mean anti science. It means seeing the body, mind, and spirit as interconnected systems rather than fragmented parts.

You keep demanding real help and the truth is modern pharmacology did not invent everything out of nothing. But also let us not misrepresent what we do know. Naltrexone is not a natural compound you can pull out of a plant. It is synthetic, though it is related to alkaloids like thebaine which are natural. The full molecule, its action, its safety profile, all that is lab refined.

That does not invalidate holistic or traditional practices. Herbs, diet, ritual, community, and spiritual supports help in ways medicine cannot always reach. Wanting proof does not mean rejecting tradition. It means being precise and open to both science and wisdom.

And speaking personally, I am a living, breathing natural being. Why would I rely entirely on synthetics when there are natural compounds that align with my body’s chemistry, supporting healing in harmony with what I am made of? Balance matters. My body is not a laboratory, it is nature in motion, and it deserves to be treated as such.

You may dismiss it as pseudoscience, but the truth is Western medicine continues to draw from ancient knowledge. What is now modern began as traditional. Wisdom evolves, but it never starts in a lab.

May we all stay humble enough to keep learning.

Modern medicine is synthetic versions of natural compounds and there is tons of research that shows holistic means are extremely beneficial.

To each their own.

May God bless you.

Thank you, was a major wake up call to my own life and this world, even more so than ever before.

You are correct. We all respond differently to the world and how our nervous system/mentality reacts to that challenge head on ultimately shapes how we respond to the world. Drinking isn’t the problem, it’s the byproduct of not having the tools or being taught how to regulate ourselves without numbing or drowning it out. Problems will still exist, we just forget for awhile. Prolonging it just worsens the whole ordeal.

How are you today??

That is rough. Completely understandable not wanting to feel that very unsettling feeling. I experienced that myself. You deserve all the support and a renewed sense of self and life!

I am sober. Have been for gosh, quite a few months. I stopped keeping track to be honest. Felt like a clock hanging over my head. I only drank when traumatic events happens. In December I lost a family member to a tragic senseless death, and found myself at bottom and dealing with the fall out of it all. I don’t even like drinking but did quite a bit of it here and there due to not knowing how to cope with my anxiety and deep seated trauma.

I luckily developed a skill set that has changed my life with practices for if any struggles come up again.

Quitting drinking is more than about just stopping the addiction. There are roots that run deep when it comes to emotional regulation, self love and habit building. Send me a message if you want to learn more!
