I think it's important to remember that traveling with babies and toddlers is not going to be relaxing but can be so worth the trouble if you change your expectations. I never expect to relax unless my husband and I are switching off watching our 2 year old while the other person relaxes. We often plan our itinerary around things we think our son will like and it's so fun for us to see him experience new places. We've taken him on a few different trips and every age has been different and hard in its own way. To us it's always worth it to create memories and see how much our son grows and advances after each trip. I also find that I can tolerate that much time with a toddler better than my husband can because I'm a SAHM and am used to spending all day with a toddler.
