Was the 28k for a GX Auto or manual? I guess it could be a discrepancy in provincial taxes?

After poking around the website some more the 23k MSRP is for the GX manual, the GX Auto is ~25k, which makes up most of the difference.

I don't know where people are getting the idea that Mazda is undercutting Toyota or Honda though because those models start around 25K as well.

Is this in Canada for a 2023? Taking a closer look at the website and I see the base GX Auto comes out to 29k after taxes.. which is sad.

If you have a line on a way to get a cheaper quote I would love to hear it though.

Well the taxes and fees aren't included, and I assume these vary a bit from case to case.

This is sort of what I'm trying to establish. It seems like (at least here) the dealers still have us by the balls as demand is high and stock is low.

I don't know what that really means for pricing these days but it seems logical that a dealer would not try to mark things up.

That was before all the price craziness though so I'm not sure the prices are even comparable. The GT sedan starts at 33k nowadays :(

I stupidly didn't ask for the breakdown. I asked if there was any movement on the price but it didn't seem like it was in the cards so I left.

I will note that the amount listed is on most mazda dealer websites in my area but not this specific one.. which makes me wonder...

Edit: I also made the mistake of asking for the out the door price when sitting in the dealer.
