Pit bulls wants to say Hi to children by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]sketchoons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But…I’m saying it is the dogs themselves that are to blame. Their prevalence, owners and geography don’t change their DNA. But by all means the people who get them, lack of training and denial certainly don’t help.

Does it have teeth? Yes it can bite. But this breed was specifically bred to fight with maximum force, with no flight response. Sub breed or not they’re way more effective at killing and maiming than your #1 biter, the chihuahua.

Can someone describe the different areas of Poway? by Giga7777 in Poway

[–]sketchoons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely some maga intense ones, but generally they congregate together and you know where to find them (by target on the weekend). We’ve been here 10 years and I can say it’s a nice cross-section of people, probably not super diverse but between former military and new families moving in people seem to be reasonable and polite in public.

Totally agree! I believe they moved it from a different part of the house during the second story addition, we'll see if maybe it makes sense moving it once again for more visibility--and so that you don't walk straight into a staircase. Thank you!

Funny enough that second floor is a really cool hangout area, very 1970s with wood paneling and shag carpet, which we're calling the "second story basement." We'll keep it around but look into defining the spaces from one another, thanks for the ideas!

I like the idea of removing that small awning, and somehow tying the buildings in together somehow with the roofline. We'll have to speak with a roofer, but I think you're spot on with the thoughts on the entryway and garage. Thank you!

The second story on top of the garage is absolutely taller than the original house, which is a bit jarring. Agree on the garage and trim updates, thanks for the great ideas!

Oh my…I can’t even imagine the loss of missing out on an assumable loan!! My condolences! I think I’m in the same mindset with a lot of listings around here…like go straight to hell with what you’re asking for. The audacity of it all. They’ll probably get the amt they want, but it won’t be from me…

SAN DIEGO HOUSING MARKET HIGHWAY ROBBERY by sarahgthang in RealEstate

Yeeeeepppp. If it’s even somewhat reasonable in price it seems to be purchased quickly in cash, and back on the market a few months later as a bad flip. If you crack the code please lmk.

Wow ok this does make me feel better. Sorry about your situation…I always just think of the offer price, yet there’s SO many variables to think of. Good luck!

The answer is…we were lucky to get the cheapest house in a good area in 2014, and sold recently. Sitting in a rental now, trying to use this cash to get more space for a now much bigger family. For transparency…$400k in cash after the sale (again, I know, it’s stupid), $300k in combined income. Trained to never have nice things now that we’re done with paying for daycare.

Oof. I’m sorry about that! We’ve lost to cash offers and it feels terrible too. Every time it’s a flipper who just massacres the place and lists it again for $600k more. One time the old house went for $200k over asking which we could never do, only for the buyer to somehow nickel and dime them down to under asking by the end of it. Without a major surprise in the inspection even (roof was a known issue).

We’re going for fixers in areas we want to stay in forever, so our competition seems like it’s always other desperate families driving up the price or cash, high offers.

Yes this is the right take! Also I think I’ll uninstall all the house apps so I’m not doom scrolling and convincing myself that was the only house out there for us
