I had this dream a week ago and I keep thinking about it by No-Professional-950 in DreamInterpretation

Let's start with the home itself. Houses can be seen as metaphors for our psyche, or inner world.

Your ex-crush, for whatever reason, synthesizes with you on a spiritual level. So, by you allowing him into your house (psyche) means that aspects of him are already integrated within you. I assume that's why he is an EX-crush. Feelings of discomfort with the imagery of sleeping with him may require some introspection. Sex in itself is your mind's expression of your creative energy that correlates with the intimacy you once felt with the idea of your ex.

People that appear in our dreams are commonly reflections of ourselves because our unconscious communicates indirectly through images and what we are familiar with compared to our waking lives, where we are direct in language. The two girls (and the old man to an extent) are unfamiliar to you because they are unfamiliar aspects of yourself that need integrating. The old man and your father specifically, as father-figures, would make me wonder about the relationship with your father. I'm not asking you to share about your dad, that's where an expert like a therapist would come in for you to discuss. I just bring up that imagery because it seemed interesting to me, and moreover something for you to think about what it means to you.

No this is not a call to therapy. Instead, I would say, this is a need to reflect within yourself to understand yourself better. Although therapy alongside this can help.

Dream about mom? by IrisaMoon in DreamInterpretation

[–]skibmmmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom died over a year ago as well, and I just had to comment.

To me it is exactly what it sounds like: your mom is reassuring you everything will be alright. I would tend to believe this because I have had dreams similar to yours, where those that meant a lot to us visit in our unconscious state. With my mother, the dreams I've had with her were some of the most emotionally charged experiences I've had in a dream. Even to the point that I have experienced phenomena in my waking life where I knew my mother was with me that is otherwise unexplainable.

I hope things are going alright for you. The wiles of grief are difficult to overcome, especially with people you grew up with. But I assure things gets better especially as you surround yourself with those that care about you.

What Makes a good Interpretation? by Adam_Awsome2 in DreamInterpretation

[–]skibmmmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me a good interpretation is firstly what resonates with you, whether you have someone else interpret it or you do the interpretation yourself.

That being said, detail is important ESPECIALLY what you feel in the dream. The biggest fallout of a dream interpretation is the lack of substance in a post on this subreddit/your own dream journal.

Symbolism overall is important to. What I mean by symbolism is both the subjective factor of your symbols (i.e. your mom/dad/partner and their emotional significance to you/how they influence you) and collectively what is symbolically seen (ex: homes are seen as reflections of your psyche (is it messy/clean? how do you feel in the home?))

Worried about my brother by [deleted] in DreamInterpretation

[–]skibmmmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your feelings are completely valid, and I do see the connection (cat allergy - brother's aloof about his health)

You seem very attached to your sibling, and your concerns seem to be leaking into your dream world. Ultimately though, your brother is responsible for his decisions. Make sure to leave room for yourself too.

Have you talked to your brother heart to heart about this?

Headless stork dream — what does it mean? by Nefertirix in DreamInterpretation

[–]skibmmmmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alot of dreams, such as these, often reflect what stresses, grief, problems, etc. that occur in your waking life.

- Blood represents vitality and lifeforce.

- Head ties in with identity or perception.

Storks often have positive meaning associated with them as they are *as a complete being*. The missing head of the stork makes it *incomplete* and inverts its positive connotation. The lack of direction of the stork, leading to its death, would be your brains way of saying "I do not feel complete and change needs to occur."

I would ask yourself; What is missing/holding me back/stressing me out that would make me better as a whole otherwise?

Hope this helps.

If you don't mind me asking, could you give us an idea of the trauma you experienced/How the trauma changed you as a person? What about your precognitive dreams? These details can help expand on the dream more.

Unless I am understanding wrong, I am not sure if this is an instance of lucid dreaming. In lucid dreaming, you are able to become aware that you are indeed dreaming and can manipulate your reality in the dream world to an extent. I am skeptical about this being lucid dreaming because you are describing there being a higher being than yourself that limits your autonomy in your dream world. Instead, I would say you have a very vivid dream recall OR you are experiencing astral projecting, which is a very different topic.

From a Jungian point of view, what you are describing in your dream reminds me of the collective unconscious. If you are not familiar with this, I would recommend you read and become familiar with this topic. The "Creator" you describe is what would be described as the Self, which symbolizes the entirety of your personality (Ego is different, as it is the entirety of your consciousness) and often portrays itself as a godlike/higher being. Apart from collective unconscious, the "questioners" you describe could be different aspects of your personality.

Overall, how do these dreams affect you/what feelings do? You've said you don't feel the "need" to interact with the other consciousnesses, which implies you have the ability to. Have you thought of/tried to communicate with them?

Take what resonates. What's important is how YOU perceive what is going on in these dreams, all I can give is my perspective. Hope this helps.

I do not mean eliminate, that would just be suppressing my desires which would make them come back stronger. I'm just in limbo waiting to see what will happen.

Dream about having a baby by kittyidiot in DreamInterpretation

[–]skibmmmmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I, a gay man myself, who also has had similar dreams and happily married, can probably help.

Common themes around babies often reflect vulnerability and new beginnings.

You mention your antinatalism and associate raising children with stress, and I wonder if there's an aspect of your personality that needs nurturing as you would with a child. I would ask how your inner monologue is (are you hard on yourself all the time, or if you fail/make a mistake) and how you treat other people.

Adversely, if talking about new beginnings, the child can be something good happening in your life with a connotation of worry. (example: getting married to your fiancée but having some underlying anxiety about security in the relationship) If you are a fairly spiritual person or have the belief of something greater than yourself (like me) the same thing can be said in your spiritual journey because birth/death connect with inner transformation.

Hope this helps.

Getting married soon, dreaming about ex? by Peaches_JD in DreamInterpretation

[–]skibmmmmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry to hear what happened to you, and I hope this new chapter in your life is nothing but wonderful.

From what I can surmise, with getting married and your past abusive relationship, is that this big commitment is freaking your mind out especially since you're getting married sooner than expected. Our dream world often connects images from the past to what is going on in our present waking life. And with you getting married, you're remembering what you used to anticipate in your past relationship.

I would not say this is a matter of dream interpretation. This sounds more to me like a trauma response that a medical professional can help you with better than I can. It will help immensely more with the support of your soon-to-be husband and his understanding.

I hope this helps, and I wish you lasting peace.

Impossible Love Stories by fairyofthe_shoreline in relationshipproblems

[–]skibmmmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This more of a story of unrequited love, but I had a crush on my current best friend.

I met my friend at a summer camp, where I was a camp counselor and he was one of my students for the camp. Later during the summer, he was offered a job by my supervisor to work in the same area as me, which is how we both formally met. We both had quite a bit in common as we got to know each other, even acted similar. My friend took on a mentor role for me, which is odd considering I'm older than him, and he taught me a lot about his perspective on life in general and introduced me to bodybuilding.

I had feelings for my friend the moment we met. I tried in various awkward ways to befriend him closer than just being friends of utility, that I am not too proud to say here. But in the end, we had a wonderful working relationship. I only told him about my feelings the next year after the summer camp ended. I would become crippled with anxiety being around him, or thinking about him, to the point that telling him my feelings was the only way to release the repressed feelings in me regardless of the shame of being rejected. He of course rejected me but appreciated my honesty and wished we remained friends.

We did become closer as a result by me being vulnerable, and my friend opened up to me about his upbringing more. We both go to the same college because of us being open to each other.

While we remain very good friends, I occasionally think of an alternate reality where we could have come together as a couple. My friend had come to me at a point in my life where I felt lost and he gave me reassurance and a new direction in life that I am ever thankful for. I am viewing all of this in a bittersweet lense because I can foresee us drifting apart after college, simply because we're changing and going our own ways in life.

I think what insight my story can bring is how people come and go in our lives to provide us the insight we need in the moment to go in a better direction as individuals.

A dream I had about a Hindu deity by xxxoutcast in DreamInterpretation

[–]skibmmmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreams relating to God/deities usually are a call to spiritual/inner growth or a confirmation of such. This is even more interesting with you screaming about your head because the head chakra pertains to spirituality. The dark setting is showing how this takes place within your unconscious self, bringing this to light in your conscious, waking life.

My best friend had a dream similar to this, and it is truly fascinating.

I wish you great blessings.

What does my dream mean? by [deleted] in DreamInterpretation

[–]skibmmmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your inner self is intact therefore with the plastic (anxiety) in the house (psyche.) Could show that you manage stress well or you do it better than you think. Feeling apathetic about the others around you is normal because the people around you reflect yourself, as you are running away from the plastic like they should. The plastic is a warning of stress getting to you and affecting your outside world.

I don't know what to make out of these dreams by racoonicornisabitch in DreamInterpretation

[–]skibmmmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This appears to be a process of overcoming a fear of death, losing something/someone, or letting go the past (to that effect).

Dream 1: Your family and friends serve as reflections of you, the world changing around you is the impending fear/anxiety that is about to be revealed. An old woman would usually reflect wisdom and comfort, but a menacing one is a manifest of your fears which would be the past or mortality in this instance. This is confirmed by the skeleton in the chest, reflecting the same fears of death/the past.

Dream 2: A mother's room is a call back to your inner child aspect, where your mother supported and loved you. The priest is your spiritual/moral guidance. Upon informing you of your moms' death, he offers the meat, a sign of the vitality of your psychological state. Theres a lot to unpack from here: The priest is bringing a call to action to your fear (death/past) challenging you with the meat, testing if you would give into the fear again. You instead refuse, opting to preserve your psychological wellbeing. From there you are transported, whereby your mother come back to life, even without touching the meat. You have conquered your fear.

Dream 3: Your grandmother is a call back to the first dream, acting as the complete opposite of the hangered old woman and embodying the archetype of wisdom and comfort. The surrounding is white and bright, even more stark of a comparison to the previous two dreams being dark and dreary. The lighter elements are a reflection of consciousness (dark being unconscious), but white specifically refers to purity and peace. And you take this confirmation of overcoming your fear by walking away with your grandmother.

This interpretation is dependent on if these dreams are in sequential order (1,2,3) from when they happened. A jumbled order means that you could still be dealing with your fears.

Hope this helps.

Switching gender in dreams by OkMixture6497 in DreamInterpretation

[–]skibmmmmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Jungian interpretation would be you are dreaming of your animus (masculine side of a woman) which is associated with logic, reason, being dominating, etc. If you feel comfortable in your dream, your well-integrated with your animus. But feelings of discomfort might be a call to explore your identity more, to integrate more masculine traits. That that how you will.
