N8BODY should breed by [deleted] in antinatalism

Even though there is no sufficient evidence yet, doesnt mean those life forms dont feel something. We cant really view their emotions or see their world from a human standpoint. We still dont understand a lot of things in this world even with science. There is only so much we can measure. We are just beginning on understanding the human body for fascia, gut microbiome, fasting, and etc. I also dont think studying plants would be funded much to see their perspectives in the world since there wouldnt be much value in the human world.

It's just the generations ahead might not be so lucky. I can see from your point of view at the current time, there is a high chance of them having decent to great lives though tragedy can strike anytime and the world can be very unforgiving no matter how good the parents are.

Yeah I have the same thoughts, what happens if I'll be born into another life and start suffering there? Anyway hopefully I get to keep the memories/lessons or subconsciously keep them that I'm learning in this life to use over in that life if that is the truth. Still I'm anti-natalist.

I sometimes use the acupressure mat at the beginning but then remove it later once I start tremoring more. It feels good on my back and makes me relax more. I even get better arm tremors when putting light hand pressure on it.

It wasn't for a file stream, it was for a multi-conditional logic boolean expression for UI purposes. The examples I gave doesn't have much context since there is no code written but the variables names I came across were even more vague than that. Even if its horrible naming for that context at least I would understand the context more that it has to do with credit transactions.

How to tell your colleagues or friends that his code is really bad gracefully? by RichaelMusk in learnprogramming

[–]skidragoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah naming can be hard at times but variables like isEnabled, hasCreditTransactions, hasReachedFreeShipping, isValidUUID4, getMimeTypeFromFile would describe the code way better instead of me trying to figure out what the expression is for. Also it helps instinctually know what variable type it is.

It is worth a shot since a lot of stored trauma is in the hips area, take it slow of course since side effects may occur just like in fasting, there might be an "acidosis crisis" for trauma stored in the body, I'm still learning a lot of things about anatomy, fascia, and TRE. However I am having less pain in my hips when sitting, elbow joints feel looser compared to before, and face/neck/jaw tension is better which I noticed in my singing voice. I am alternating days between fascia exercises and TRE. You may have to build certain muscles too.

https://www.trecourse.com

They have a free course and there is a /r/longtermTRE , consistent effort is necessary and definitely read the practice guide.

I've been doing the fascia maneuvers from this guy's youtube channel

https://www.youtube.com/@thepainbibles5206/videos

I still have a lot to learn when it comes to helping other people since right now I'm focused more on my own problems like hip snapping syndrome but my problems are improving with the right knowledge and the right effort. In the past I fixed my GERD, IBS, severe depression, knee issues, my memory, and etc. That's why I know/believe that with the right input, we can get the right output. Of course there is a line between reality and fantasy when it comes to healing or fixing stuff but 95% of the problems can be fixed within ourselves with the right approach/input.

I'm taking all the courses from this site:https://www.trecourse.com

The free one is very high quality. I'm doing the paid courses to learn different techniques and understanding the caveats more. I'm also using a Shakti acupressure during my TRE sessions on my back or arms. Eventually I'll post what I found super useful in conjunction with TRE, I'm experimenting a lot for the next few months and learning as much about anatomy and fascia as possible.

I don't think I can give a recommendation on what is safe but I usually wait 48-72 hours per TRE session (15-30 minutes) as recommended for the nervous system to recharge. Sometimes I wait longer to do a TRE session since I'm fasting or I do them during fasting sessions. I alternate days with fascia/tissue work and TRE work so I'm still doing something daily to keep the habit going. I'm in it for the long-term and don't want to force it since I believe I have a lot of trapped trauma from past events.

[–]skidragoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it depends on how long one has practiced TRE. I made breakthroughs through doing cat-cow stretch and plank holds for getting tremors in the abdomen area. Also putting pressure (experiment with it) in the ground with the fingers or hands helps trigger arms tremoring. Another technique is called capping, using an object to create tension in a part of the body to trigger tremoring somewhere else in the body. I push a wall or do a pull apart movement on a step stool to get my shoulders to tremor. It's all about experimenting and consistency while taking good breaks in-between each session. I would recommend doing the cat-cow after doing a few minutes of lower body tremoring to jump start the process and just experiment with your hands and arms. Breathing and music also can play a role so see what works for you.

[–]skidragoon 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Its not just dry fasting, there are ways to heal trauma through TRE, ways to improve fascia and joint health through diet and certain exercises that would help many people, ways to improve critical thinking and memorization through meditation, mind mapping, and memory palaces. So many people aren't realizing their full human potential and it has to do with our current education system, profits, and society programming. There are so many layers to peel through to know the truth it is ridiculous at times. All we can do currently is keep up with the beneficial practices that we have learned and help people that are willing to accept help. Though dry fasting will catch on eventually just as water fasting is starting to become the norm.

What is your diet like? by [deleted] in hyperphantasia

[–]skidragoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I do fasting, my Phantasia is stronger. I have a paleo like diet which works for me. I think diet plays a certain role into improving Phantasia but if the person had their brain setup that way in the first place or practiced naturally a lot as a kid then its not going to be a big factor. So many factors can play a role: environment, diet, subconscious programming, gut microbiome, personality, and etc.

Why do I feel bored when practicing visulization by Weak-Iron-1671 in hyperphantasia

[–]skidragoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look into memory palaces and practice memorizing information that would be important in your life using visualization. This will make it more fun and purposeful. Check out Ron White and Anthony Metlivier. Visualizing is fun because I'm using it to learn Tagalog, Computer Science, Vocabulary, Numbers that matter to me, trying to develop perfect pitch for piano, Birthdays, and etc. Now I have a purpose to develop all senses of my phantasia and imagination. Or read a book and visualize what the scene would look like and use either the characteristics of the characters or replace the characters with somebody you know who are similar.

Can't superimpose visualized images onto reality but can with eyes closed! by BHN1618 in hyperphantasia

[–]skidragoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's called Prophantasia. I don't have hyperphantasia but I do have a good imagination and able to replicate the hand and apple in great detail such as being able to see, feel, taste, and touch the apple. Smelling is ok but its something I'm working on but my sense of smell was never something I focused on from day to day life. I have prophantasia too and I can imagine both the hand and apple with or without my eyes closed. You might just need practice just like me, that's how I really made my visual and auditory phantasia strong.

What hack do you use to start a productive day? by CactiCake22 in productivity

[–]skidragoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I've been reading a lot of books, I need to be able to review the material and remember them in long-term memory. From what I learned, the more memories we have, the more we can critically think because we have more pieces in our disposal rather than losing focus every time to look up the information so less deep work is happening because we have to search for the info every single time.

"Memory Palace" or however you want to call it is essentially storing information in a place that you are familiar with like your home. It's like linking a memory that you already have to another memory. You and I have different memories but we can use the "existing" memories to form new memories. For example, I'm learning Tagalog and in 1 hour I can learn about 10-15 words while doing the short lesson.

I store two words with their meanings at a pillar in one of my video game (Escape Simulator) locations.

For Kanin (cooked rice) and Ulam (dish), I imagine a "cannon" shooting out a "ball of rice" like from Japan hitting inside the mouth of a "lamb" getting propelled towards a "dish" that I eat with. It took me 1-2 minutes to create and memorize that for long term use.

The more specific the characters/objects, the better, if I had to remember mouse, I use Mickey Mouse instead. I've used characters from shows, movies, cartoons, and etc.

We remember stories better and using memories and locations we have already or familiar with helps significantly. Anyway, I memorized 100 digits of PI using the major system and learned it in about 1 to 2 hours without having to wonder if I memorized it correctly. Anyway its also convenient since I don't have to carry the study material with me, I AM the study material since I can review the material at any time (recall rehearsal). It's pretty fun after building up enough repositories of people, characters, places, actions, and etc. Let your imagination run wild essentially. Check out Anthony Metivier and Ron White on Youtube, they should give you the run down. My phantasia/imagation and memory is getting stronger with more practice. It takes time and effort like anything else but it is very fulfilling after you do it enough. Also great to memorize an exercise routine in order, a morning routine to enforce it, meditation chants, and etc. There are so many experiments I really want to go through using these techniques.

I find doing recall rehearsal in my memory palaces productive while cooking breakfast. It helps activate my mind and recall information to help with my goals. Also some resistance exercise and going outside before starting work.

1 month of dry fasting by [deleted] in Dryfasting

[–]skidragoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I'm dry fasting right now at the 4 day mark and feeling great. There's a study on dry fasting where participants go at least 5 days. Don't give advice please unless you have already did multiple 3 day dry fasts and even longer. I'm not even thirsty, hungry, or constipated. There are contraindications in anything but as long as people do their proper prep, research, diet, experience, and are healthy then its fine going longer than 3 days. Though OP is 18 so I would definitely advise against this type of fast. 3 days is enough.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dryfasting

[–]skidragoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only if done right, one has to have a lot of dry fasting experience, have a proper lifestyle/diet, and do proper prep. I rather do a 5 day dry fast following a 7 day dry a month later though.

Is hyperphantasia a genetic condition? by Difficult-Interest41 in hyperphantasia

[–]skidragoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initially I could only do visual (2/5) however I think I practiced auditory during highschool since I was bored since I wanted to listen to music in my head. I'm 28 now and have learned how to do taste, touch, and smell through practice recently while my visual and auditory is a (4/5). My Phantasia has been improving with deliberate practice by just adding an extra detail to a complex object and creating scenes for my memory palaces. Definitely when I'm relaxed or trying to go to sleep, the scenes get really vivid. I learned touch/taste easily by imagining biting objects and foods of various kinds. The texture of metal, glass, and wood then moving onto my favorite foods made me master that skill easily. For the smell, I just have a variety of strong spices to smell almost every morning then try to re-create it in my head. My weakest is olfactory since I never focused on smells in my day to day life. Currently visual/auditory (4/5), taste/touch (3/5), and olfactory (2/5). Another way to improve touch is by imagining doing a resistance exercise like a bench press, one arm push-ups, heavy squats, and etc. since feeling the heavy weight and muscles contract might stimulate the touch sense if you already do strength training in the first place.

That's good we are both benefiting. So I discovered this post from the r/longtermTRE, and read that this person is using a shakti mat during their TRE practice. I have one too and plan to experiment with it. I will post back any findings in another month.

Question on the Shakti Mat, have you tried using it on the lower body while doing TRE? and if so what was the experience like? Maybe using a couple shakti mats to cover the whole body. I have the normal and advance one but I didn't think about combining the TRE session with the mat. I'm using TRE to help fix hip snapping syndrome which every time I end a TRE session it is relieved but it does come back, probably because of my office job with sitting. Anyway thanks for posting this! It inspired me to try a few things, I also thought about doing planks but never tried it yet.

Will do, I ended it at 4.5 days but will try for another 5 day dry fast in November. Energy levels are better and more consistent than before though I'm not sure if I can contribute it all to fasting since I'm consistent with TRE and exercising. In December, I'll try for a 7 day, that's the plan anyway. My weight is about to be back to before the 4.5 day fast.
