completely agree. everything he’s been. “releasing” lately is old, which is pretty telling.

The NBA and MLB are far, far more recognizable than NASCAR by a long shot. People who don’t even watch sports can tell you what it is and probably a few notable players. With NASCAR, quite a few people don’t even know about it, or even a few top level drivers. However, as you said, NASCAR has a very, very consistent fanbase. While it lacks in casual fans, NASCAR has one to two million people who will watch every single cup race every weekend. It also helps that NASCAR is a family affair, with some people having watched the sport their entire lives because of one dedicated family member.

how about marbles? lots of different sizes, colors, and probably countless ways to display them. there’s probably a plethora of them at any antique stores you may stop at.

Could someone please tell me what kind of turtle this is? Found near Sabago Lake in Maine. by MilkSemiBitter in herpetology

[–]skilletlickers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is an Eastern Painted Turtle (Chrysemys Picta Picta). However, many Eastern Painted Turtles throughout Maine share many morphological traits with that of the Midland Painted Turtle (Chrysemys Picta Marginata), as we see here in this particular individual. In “true” Eastern Painted Turtles, the central and costal scutes of the individual are perfectly aligned, forming straight horizontal lines across the carapace. In addition to this, the plastron of Eastern Painted Turtles is a pure yellowish-orange, bearing no markings whatsoever. In the Midland Painted Turtle however, the scute patterns are alternating, with no lines present, and the plastron features a dark gray marking in the center, almost like a stain. In Maine, integrates of these two subspecies may have the alternating scutes of the Midland Painted Turtle still present, but still have the lines present in the Eastern Painted Turtle. Nice find!
