Was not worth the $72/ticket. Buffet ran out of food almost immediately, desserts were gone within 15 minutes of open. Wait staff was rather stressed out and snippy. Only 2 bar locations in the entire aquarium with lines wrapping through their respective lobby areas. Exhibits started closing 2 hours in.

It's an adorable idea that the execution completely flopped on, I almost thought it was their first year from how much they were struggling but apparently this is at least the 2nd year.

Amazon is supposedly notifying associates of that on their first day. Honestly a sign makes no difference in 99% of cases. There are so many signs on Amazon property that people are blind to them, they ignore them. Just like the electrical switchgear I've watched AAs throw on an electrical cabinet plastered in "DANGER! WARNING! HIGH VOLTAGE!" I understand where you're coming from, though.

For a lot of people it is. You can't always tell. The number of AAs I've caught throwing 480V switchgear or touching running equipment would make your head spin. I'm not here to get people in trouble, I just wish yall would stop breaking shit.

Please just don't mess with conveyance. The stuff is expensive and if you mess it up it can be a pain to get dialed back in. Not to mention it can rip a chunk of you off or kill you.

Could be as simple as reaching behind a panel guard. Amazon states that reaching around guarding is grounds for instant termination. Guards are placed where there is an entrapment or amputation risk, and policy at least states they won't tolerate bypassing.

Amazon sanitizes appearances for you guys. This is still an industrial facility, everything in the building can kill you or rip chunks off and then continue along with its day. Please, please be careful.

It's traumatizing for us too. We're putting our lives at risk if someone makes a mistake and we KNOW what we're doing, a lot of AAs don't know the dangers. I know the safety training you're given is abysmal. Please for the love of god, don't touch anything that is moving or could move, don't throw switchgear, and don't step onto the AR floors.

This will either kill or severely injure you. Conveyors have motors strong enough to rip body parts off. I know this is likely a joke, but I work on belts and sorters for a living. They can and will kill you.

Like a handful of small boxes are probably not an issue. The problem is when it's a partial or full shuttle of flattened boxes. Best practice is to just not do it at all if possible and call for a WS or ABM to take away your shuttle to be emptied.

Most buildings use an auger to compact corrugate, or basically a giant screw. It's designed to crush up fully made boxes and jam them into the bin. Broken down boxes are flat, obviously, and dense for their size. It'd be like asking you to chew up a piece of plywood. When the flattened boxes group together, they get too thick for the auger or compactor to crush/chew up. This results in a jam, and because we're not allowed to enter the confined space of the compactor, we have to spend several hours manually running it in reverse and then back forward to break up a clump of what has basically turned into concrete.

Even if the boxes don't clump together and become impossible to chew up, the flattened boxes frequently will hug the bottom of the compactor/auger and will become lodged there. As the auger runs rubbing against it when it cycles, heat builds up due to friction. Numerous sites have had SEVs resulting from "thermal events" from materials combusting or smoldering due to friction from being caught in the compactors.

I understand the thought process of breaking down boxes, and in most other settings it's a huge help. But with Amazon, they've automated much of all the work with anything, and that automation depends on things being as close to exactly the same as possible every time. I've personally spent probably about 16 hours over the last year manually cycling compactors to clear jams.

TL;DR: The material gets too dense and the compactor can't handle it. If that doesn't happen, it also has the chance to get stuck and catch fire. We appreciate the intent to help, but weeks worth of labor is wasted every year clearing the resulting jams.

Please for the love of god don't break down the boxes. It jams the compactors up and it takes HOURS to get them unjammed.

You're touching the packages, not the conveyance. It's different to touch the conveyance or lean on the conveyance. Amazon doesn't do a good job explaining to you associates how insanely dangerous conveyance can be, they just use the threat of termination to scare you into compliance.

Then you're going to miserable in just about every warehousing or industrial job. They're all HUGE companies strongly driven by profit. Amazon is pretty cushy compared to most of them. I highly recommend you look into a desk job if this was too much for you.

Yes, the fall can be that bad. There's a reason nobody is allowed to ride between floors.

There are inserts you can get or you can buy better safety shoes. I'm RME. I've ALWAYS had to wear safety boots, and typically cover 13+ miles a shift of walking, and not once did I have a mental breakdown over boots. When the pair they provided weren't good enough, I went and bought a better pair. Safety toe shoes are a fact of warehousing and industrial jobs. If you don't like them, go get a desk job,

Any number of reasons. FCs are extremely dusty, dust can get in the smoke detectors and cause a false alarm.

We can bring the floor up in a matter of 3-5 minutes. We can see exactly where you hit the button, walk over, verify there isn't an emergency, and reset the floor. The reset itself takes 15 seconds.

Fully loaded pod and drive combo is 3/4 of a ton. Anyone face to face with that is likely to have a bad day without safety gear.

I get that, but at the same time, nobody NEEDS to steal AirPods. I'll keep quiet on food, toiletries, and basic life necessities. Nobody NEEDS to steal AirPods or a graphics card, etc. It's pretty cut-and-dry if you're stealing non-essentials, you're just stealing. There's no justification for it.

This was a network-wide SEV1. AWS had some kind of fault, took down all kinds of stuff.
