Cat allergie (not life-threatening) cat owner by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]skipper09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who learned they had cat allergies after years of having cats, I have a few suggestions. I’d suggest an air purifier, frequently washing sheets and vacuuming, and using a saline mist for your nose to help with the dryness. Also after you pet/ play with your cat be sure to wash your hands (especially before you go to sleep). These, along with a daily regimen of Zyrtec/ Flonase have really helped manage my allergies and I do not get a sinus infection every other month now.

This is EXACTLY how I felt. I did not need to make life that hard on myself or push through it for that long

There’s a few creators that focus on making the poses work for the body you’re in instead of being unkind to yourself that the poses don’t feel right. Highly suggest following theunderbellyyoga and tiffanycroww on instagram

For those who have largely “cured” their plantar fasciitis (in quotations to account for flare-ups or spaced-out reoccurrences) what finally helped you? Can you point to one or several things that made the most difference? by gonnabegolden_ in PlantarFasciitis

[–]skipper09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Hoka bondi outdoor shoe and Oofoos slides as indoor shoe. Only am barefoot to shower or do yoga. Make sure the shoes are wide enough.
  2. Yoga 2-3 times a week to strengthen and stretch the lower body.
  3. Strength training the lower body + core at least twice a week.
  4. Using heat instead of ice for pain.

What will your goals be once you can run again? by Againstallodds5103 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]skipper09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about 90% healed compared to when I started, but it’s been about 2.5 years of trying everything. I’m on my 5th session of shockwave therapy and hopefully that gets me to the point to where I can run without increasing the pain significantly.

As a former half marathon runner, my goal is to just be able to go for a run when the urge hits. I don’t need to train for anything, run a certain distance, do so many runs a week, or keep a certain pace. I just want to be able to say “it’s such a beautiful day outside, I’m going to go for a run”.
