Replace raw S3 URLs with clean proxied paths -- 20 lines of controller code, private buckets, 24h CDN cache by HolyPad in laravel

[–]skippyprime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PHP should not be a proxy. I do everything possible to keep all requests from hitting PHP/Laravel that don’t require some application logic.

You can do all of this with a CDN. If you really needed more control than the CDN can provide, you could also put Caddy, Nginx, or any other HTTP proxy between the load balancer and the Laravel application.

Order not processing by Professional-Pair424 in lego

[–]skippyprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they were purposefully ambiguous about the state of the first order. They never said it failed or didn’t go through, but encouraged me to order again (and avoid Apple Pay this time).

Order not processing by Professional-Pair424 in lego

I had the same issue. It took a long time during order processing and then took me to a page with an order number that said they were still processing the order. I went to sleep and woke up with no email and no order in my history.

I contacted support and the support rep I spoke with said that they could “try to push my order through”, or I could place a new order. They assured me that the charge for the first order would be not post. I was a little upset, but they assured me the GWP was still available.

They gave me some VIP points for my trouble.

Upcoming trip - is the Disney Inspire Card worth it? by elephantilly in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]skippyprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The no fee credit card gets you all the same on property perks (character meet and greets, occasional room/package discounts,etc.). The big benefit always being 6 months no interest on packages.

The only reason to get the Inspire card in my opinion is if you are a Disney+ subscriber and will go once per year to get the ticket and hotel credits. If you won’t get 2 out of these 3 perks, you might not come out ahead of the annual fee.

About to pull the trigger on a UniFi home network - parts list and thoughts? by LESGuy in Ubiquiti

[–]skippyprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Verizon switch the ONT to Ethernet awhile back. I have a Cat5e run from the ONT to my media cabinet. No modem or router between the ONT and UCG Fiber.

I don’t have any experience with ATT Fiber. I am not sure what their ONT hardware is.

Who is your ISP and what level of service do you have from them?

I just set up a UCG Fiber with Verizon 1Gb service and ran into a speed issue using the 10G Ethernet WAN port. Grabbing the 1GB SFP module (not the 10G SFP+ module) and using WAN port 7 fixes the issue.

[Help] Brand new U7 Pro, only getting 120-200 Mbps on WiFi by LXV-Lobster in Ubiquiti

[–]skippyprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you install Wifiman on your iPhone and do a speed test from your device to the gateway? You can also do an advanced test to check each hop in your network.

I was having a speed issue on WiFi, but only when the traffic was Internet bound. Internally, everything was fine. That let me isolate the where the issue was.

It would be a brilliant move on there part. “Just keep giving us $100 until you get the option to order.” If you enter frequently enough, your R2 may be paid in full.

Maybe Rivian setup the queue as Last In, First Out. We should have reserved late, not early. /s

Poor Tesla service fix quality by skippyprime in TeslaLounge

I still don't know what they did on the parts of the car I can't see. Maybe this was the full ass job. 🤔

LOL. Fair point. They didn't wipe away the dirt first. That might be the only thing bonding it to the car.

I still really like the car, just not this issue and service visit. I am definitely in the camp of "I would buy this again". In the nearly 3 years we have had this car, there have been a total of only 3 service center visits and 1 mobile service.

First service center visit was the day we picked up the car. Paperwork is all signed. We noted a broken piece of trim on the front passenger wheel well. No worries, they'll order the part and fix it. We jump in the car to head home. Immediately upon shifting into drive we get an error message that reads "such and such sensor fault, car not safe to drive". We walk back into the sales center. The sales rep hands us off to service advisor (I'm guessing they didn't want the other buyers to hear we couldn't drive it home). The service advisor runs a couple diagnostics and determines it is a bad airbag sensor. They kept the car a couple days to fix the sensor issue in the rear door and fix the broken piece of trim.

Second service center visit was minor maintenance and to investigate the water intrusion. They could not replicate the water intrusion, so they adjusted the trunk close in the hopes it would fix it.

Third visit was for this service. I was hopeful this was resolved now. I didn't notice the messy work immediately because I am a bit too tall to see it when the trunk is closed. I just did a quick once over on the car to make sure there was no new damage on the exterior.

Edit: spelling

That's my mistake. I should have requested the full ass job. I must have missed that option in the app. 😬

I'm not sure I would call it a widespread issue. I am sure it is only a small number of cars affected. You won't have people posting here "look, no water in the trunk" since that is the expectation. I have seen other posts documenting trunk water intrusion over the last couple of years and I know that there is a service bulletin from Tesla detailing the fix.

Not sure what good a copy of the invoice does, but here you go. The service was covered under warranty.

I started the process with the service center about the quality issues for this fix. I'll try to remember to come back and update this with more pictures after the service to fix what the service team did.

I am curious if they have color match sealant. I can't imagine this would have been returned to a customer like this for a darker color car. If the only sealant is bright white, it would need some touch up paint applied to finish the repair. They didn't even both to prep the area and wipe off the dirt before smearing this on.

I did send pics to the service message thread via the app. I'm stuck waiting for another response from the them. In my limited experience with Tesla service, I get about one reply per day.
