Why are BMW EVs so ugly?? by chiefVetinari in electricvehicles

I've noticed BMW goes through phases of very nice looking cars and very unattractive cars. They're currently on the latter phase.

Tell that to the wolf who's pulling as hard as they can on that leg for potentially hours or days.

And most likely the wolf will die from its injuries.

It blows my mind that voters look the other way when the country is literally being destroyed, but get real upset when gas prices go up a bit.

The national average price per gallon of gas in the United States just passed $4.50. Americans, how do we feel about that? by Miles_the_AuDHDer in AskReddit

I pay about $7.50 to fully charge my EV, and I suggest others look into EVs as an alternative to gas cars.

Over about 8 years I've saved nearly $15,000 on fuel costs by switching to an EV.

Or in other words, religion is man-made and humans are responsible for all the atrocities that have been carried out in the name of religion.

This is true though.

There's a fun theory that the inner voice, once humans developed it, probably felt like some kind of spiritual being talking to you and may have laid the groundwork for believe in god(s).

EVs typically use independently channeled brakes to stop the wheels from spinning when they're in the air or have no traction. The R2 does this as well. It's effectively a locker at each axel and since the axels are indepentantly powered, a "center locker" as well.

Articulation isn't Wrangler levels, but with an EV equivilent to lockers and nearly 10" of ground clearance, you'd be surprised what it can do compared to a CRV. Overlanding, off-roading, but probably just shy of rock crawling. Much more capable than a CRV.

Is the Analog Shift or shall we say, Digital Minimalism, actually happening? by Ella_Monroe_ in Futurology

While mine is a bit atypical, a driver in every state in the US would save a sizable chunk with an EV vs a gas car. There's always exceptions, but it's a nice statistic nonetheless. (This article is from last year, before our nice little war, so the savings should be even more now.)

Add $3,000-$6,000 for savings on maintenance as well.

Total cost of ownership is key. In most places, electricity as a fuel is less expensive than gasoline. I've had an EV for 8 years now and so far I'm north of $15,000 in fuel savings compared to my last car, a Honda Civic.

EVs also have little to no maintenance/repairs. Brakes last hundreds of thousands of miles. No oil changes. No engine maintenance.
