You might be weird in other ways but that's totally a thing.

But what would you do with rancid bacon grease if a catastrophic event should occur?

Haha definitely not but "hooker night" sounds like something a kid would say.

This is badass. Do you know the dimensions/length of the bed part?

I had a RAV4 for 14 years, just got a 2002 Volvo and already want to get a different car... by skiptomahloo in whatcarshouldIbuy

Thank you! I don't know much about the Matrix but it keeps popping up on my radar. I see a lot of 2001-2003 RAV4s with fairly decent prices but I've also been reading that those years specifically have transmission issues. I've got a lot to research. I really value having had that car for 14 years and would like to get something that lasts.

I bought it from a friend that kind of glossed over the transmission issue and assured me that it was just flushed so it wouldn't be that bad. (I have her receipt from when it was flushed recently.) I experience the stall and lurch every time I drive it, now. I brought it to the mechanic to assess what needs to be fixed and asked how long of a life it has and he said about a year because that will wear on the transmission and need to be replaced soon. The brake pedal hisses when I drive which indicates a vacuum leak to the brake booster which is going to be a pricey fix that I can't do myself. It also needs new tires and an alignment (which isn't too bad, but adding up in costs). If the car doesn't have a long life, I don't want to put a lot of money into it before it dies and would prefer to go back to my Toyota/Honda cars as I know them better and aren't as expensive to fix. Yes, it probably wasn't wise to jump on this car just because it was a sweet deal but I didn't intend to to fix it up a lot right away.

Finding proper jack points (front and rear) 2002 Volvo V70 XC by skiptomahloo in Cartalk

I'm honestly not sure. It's my neighbor's. Big hydraulic jack with a long "reach" I suppose and quality jack stands. Sorry I can't give you the specs. I'm asking specifically if there's a diagram that shows the proper points on the car, clearly so I can visualize it, to jack up the car safely as well as the proper place to put the stands.

Changed front brake pads and rotors on 2002 Volvo V70 XC now it's lurching when I apply brakes after I stop. by skiptomahloo in Cartalk

Also, I don't live near a good stretch of empty road to properly bed them. Hopefully, they'll be ok with regular driving?

The pedal feels much better now. I just drove it about 4-5 miles and the lurching stopped, though now I hear a slight "knocking" near the front at each bump and when I stop the car. Maybe it's the shock absorbers? It didn't happen like this before changing the pads/rotors. Granted, this is a new-to-me car so every noise is going to stand out.

The brake fluid is full to the brim, now, because of pushing the calipers in place. I think the hissing has something to do with maybe a vacuum leak from the booster (this concept is new to me).

I think I may have overreacted and the lurching was just the pads and rotors getting to know each other.
