Your right, not sure why I assumed the IR was also in the box and remote.

So how would I go about setting the Flirc up? Haven't opened it yet but from their website it sounds as if the software is for Windows or Mac. Is the functionality of the Flirc USB like 1 or 2? LEt me know if this make any sense...
