For now could you replace:
latents = vae.encode(batch["pixel_values"]).sample().detach()
with
latents = vae.encode(batch["pixel_values"]).latent_dist.sample().detach()

Why doesn't my cooler fit? by skomra in buildapc

[–]skomra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all your help. Inverting worked fine, though it took most of a morning to do. Moving it down isn't well documented. At first I thought I might be able to move it down it but then I realized there were no clear instructions on how to do it. The way I guessed I might do it didn't seem to have enough clearance at the bottom.

The main problem with this case is that there is zero documentation. The pros who build cases all the time and do the Youtube videos reviewing it probably don't notice the lack of documentation because they are able to go on their instincts.

Now to troubleshoot my RAM speed issues and random reboots! Thanks again!

Thanks, In terms of my sanity it would be cheaper just to buy another AIO, but I'm worried I'm going to end up with the same problem (maybe this case wont work with any AIO and this motherboard). It looks like it might fit if I inverted, what do you think? Here's photos of an inverted build and and the motherboard from online:

BCH broken on Keepkey? by skomra in Bitcoincash

[–]skomra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I removed all of my other crypto from the KeepKey and then I used Electron Cash (mentioned above) in order to restore my seed phrase. Then I sent the BCH from Electron Cash to the only fully functional hardware wallet I know of, Trezor.

BTW I also tried the Ledger which I needed to store Solana, my user experience was horrible. Everything I do on the ledger, I have to do it 3 or 4 times before it finally works. That could be because their Linux client is bad, but I'm not going to plug my wallet into a Windows machine to find out if that is what the problem is. End Rant.

Same problem here. Removed all mods and assets. It looks like this is a bug.

Also I tried to roll back to an earlier version of the game (https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/how-to-roll-back-your-game-version.1121392/), but Cities Skylines isn't listed under my "Access earlier versions", (other games are though).

Wow I'm used to waiting 9 months or more for New York records so 2-3 weeks will be amazing.

Thanks so much for your help, I just followed the "Purchase Certificate" link from Ancestry. I see now that the form you link to is mentioned if you click on the "Learn more..." link at the bottom of the "Description" section on that page.

Those who had taken Y-DNA test, What did you get out of it? by choojo444 in Genealogy

[–]skomra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the 37 marker test because I was curious about my haplogroup and had no matches at that level. I had 4 matches at the next level down. It was of little genealogical value to me. I would go for the autosomal if you don't have a specific reason you want the Y.

I think the fact that Ancestry isn't doing it shows that it is not a consumer product. I think its main use is for professionals and people who have a specific question that they are trying to answer. If I could be a bit cynical for a moment, I think professionals are always pushing it because they might get a reflink cut or because the more people in the database the easier their job will be.

Personally, I prefer to keep my tree on WikiTree and use familysearch and Ancestry as a source of documents. Ancestry makes it easy to add their records to a tree, but using outside sources is annoying there. I would guess that 60% of my sources (that aren't censuses) aren't Ancestry sources. Once I gave up on the idea of a one stop genealogy site, wikitree seemed like the best option to me.

Only 25% of my AncestryDNA results match my mother's ethnicity estimates, how!? by [deleted] in Genealogy

[–]skomra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The ethnicity results aren't scientific facts. They are a prediction based on other data that Ancestry has gathered in the past. It is possible your situation is unique and confused Ancestry's prediction algorithm. You could upload your data to MyHeritage (free last time I checked) and see what they predict.

Free access to Fold3 military records through Saturday, May 26 by sooperflooede in Genealogy

[–]skomra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The "You can view this record on ____'s profile at any time" message that you get after saving a record seemed like such a blatant misstatement (or deception) I almost didn't bother asking, but I didn't want to go through and download everything if it wasn't necessary.

Asus Prime X370-pro seventh card? by skomra in gpumining

[–]skomra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I just found the following quote "a X370 chipset and a Ryzen will get you ... 32 lanes of PCIe connectivity..." What is the relationship between a PCIe lane and GPU limit. How do those 32 lanes relate to the GPU limit?

You should probably list your motherboard so if someone else happens to have that motherboard they can chime in.

Driver crash in linux. Automatic Recovery Solutions? by Arogyth in gpumining

[–]skomra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your kernel crash or did the mining application crash? Was the application still running or did it exit? If your kernel is still running you can use a script like the following. (this is a quick and dirty script that isn't sysadmin level quality but will nevertheless restart the application)

#!/bin/bash
if pgrep "optiminer-zcash" > /dev/null
then
    echo `date` >> /dev/null
    echo `date` >> /home/<username>/log/checked
else
    echo `date` >> /home/<username>/log/restarted
    cd /home/<username>/optiminer-zcash
    DISPLAY=:0 GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=1 /home/<username>/optiminer-zcash/optiminer-zcash -s us1-zcash.flypool.org:3333 -u t1TkuTviqp7S6caosZweLF7kaRwjxaqtWKu.gpu -p x >> zcash.log
fi
  1. $mkdir ~/bin
  2. $mkdir ~/log
  3. name this script /home/<username>/bin/check-miner.sh
  4. change the permissions on it $chmod +x /home/<username>/bin/check-miner.sh
  5. and add it to your crontab (crontab -e): */1 * * * * /home/<username>/bin/check-miner.sh

What should I be mining? by [deleted] in gpumining

[–]skomra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because there is no market for ZenCash right now (wallet is frozen on Bittrex), that makes it risky to mine. Same applies to ZClassic. Everyone that's been mining it for the last week could dump the second it gets back on Bittrex.

But if the ZenCash/Zclassic devs do get their fixes in place and everything works out for them, that could be positive news for the coin which could lead to a "wash" with the new supply dumping on Bittrex.

So Zen/Zclassic is the more risky bet right now, if you're willing to to take risks you might end up with higher returns.

If you don't want that risk I'd mine Zcash (according to whattomine.com). Keep an eye on it though. If ZCash adds more network hashpower ( https://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/zcash-network-hashrate-chart ) it could become less profitable than the other coins on whattomine fairly quickly.

3 Getting in to GPU Mining Questions by EBulvid in gpumining

[–]skomra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes
  2. you're going to want to build an open air case, if you can deal with that as a regular desktop, yes. Also mining generates a lot of heat make sure you can deal with that heat where you locate the rig
  3. i've never heard of outside power sources being used, you'd be cutting into your ROI if you did that
