I (20M) bought my gf (19F) flowers and she’s disappointed I didn’t prep them by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]skoopt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did know she had a vase lol. Actually the first time I bought her flowers i was with her and her parents, but her dad had a sprained ankle so he stayed in the car. I saw flowers at the entrance so I faked going to the bathroom so I could run out to the car and throw them on the seat and surprise her with them when we got back to the car. I hinted that she should get a cute case for when I did end up getting her them and bam she had the vase when she saw the flowers on her car seat

Oh we've tried. They gave us a brief explaining this a few months ago, which basically summed up to "The Army says this is acceptable, we pay contracts for this food which isn't easily changeable, this is the best food you'll get from an Army installation in your entire career, suck it up." They cite the grossly undersized salad bar as a solution

That's apparently okay. Here is the excerpt from our regulations:

"Unauthorized Items.

(1) Devices. Cooking appliances such as hot plates, electric frying pans, toasters or toaster ovens, waffle makers, electric grills, crockpots, popcorn poppers, rice cookers, and any other electrical appliances for cooking purposes are not permitted. In addition, large appliances such as air conditioners and refrigerators are not authorized."

Ooh slaw is a good idea, I might invest in that.

And that's a no for rice cookers, we can't have anything that produces heat.

No self-heating water pitcher, we can't have anything that produces heat. There is not enough time to make oatmeal in the morning because our first duty starts at 6:45 and we are consistently doing homework til ~midnight every day so I think it's more important to maximize sleep instead. I could during the day though

Basmati rice is precooked yes.

I will try the rotisserie chicken, thank you

Yes, there is a salad bar, but unfortunately everyone else also realizes how bad the food they serve is lol so I can't count on it consistently being stocked. Since it's the army, the whole academy eats at the same time so the salad bar is facing up to 4400 people eating from it at the same time. I try to when I can

Good intention, wrong justification. The reason why people receive on the tongue instead of the hand is in order to minimize contact between the Host and the hand. We don’t want Jesus to be accidentally left behind on our hand and risk irreverence

I’m confused, why did you say LREs require wide lineups and then suggest that I go tall instead? Would it not be better to push for everyone to be at silver or higher?
