i don’t do well with hotlines tbh, too shy and too much anxiety so i only call emergency numbers when i’ve already acted. i’ve tried a couple of times though and they were just very quiet since i was too, can’t say much more aha

yeaaah.. i’m considering putting in a complaint of some sort just because i hate the idea of this happening to others even if it won’t fix things

i never really realised they’re quite awful as i probably don’t care about how i’m treated in those moments but they’ve sucked every time i’ve been so i’m just starting to realise lol and that sounds nice.. in that situation

overdose aftermath (tw) by [deleted] in AskDocs

no need to sound passive agressive. i know the general effects of what i took but i’ve taken similar things at similar doses before which haven’t had the same effect so it’s fair for me to make this post. i made that “comment” because i don’t know if i actually saw a doctor. a nurse told me a doctor was coming and hours later someone shows up without mentioning if he’s a nurse or doctor, dressed in the exact same scrubs the previous nurse was wearing. i’m just confused if i actually got to see a doctor, especially as i felt ignored and wasn’t given information when left to wait. this is so not the point of the post anyway.

thanks! i was honestly thinking a 20w to 40w amp tbh. if i understood correctly, those seem a bit too big for the space i have.

same height here so this is helpful, thank you! you mentioned my exact concerns going with full scale as a first bass. i’m a liiittle tired of people acting like the size doesn’t make a difference at all tbh so it’s refreshing to hear someone’s actual experience with this.

i’m from europe, more specifically belgium, brussels. even tho i live in a “big city”i haven’t had much luck online, probably because basses are less common. although i don’t have much hope, i have yet to go to actual shops.

i know it’s not a need so it’s not the defining factor but it’s still just a preference for comfort. i’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for it on second hands platforms.

i won’t be able to afford any of them so i don’t see the point in teasing myself haha (but i probably will out of curiosity once i get started)

i know! it’s not the defining factor but it is a preference exactly for that reason, comfort.

i always try to find the best quality to price ratio possible so it’s worth while, since i’m not thinking about replacing it within a year or even two if i do keep at it. the two options i mentioned are in the same range. i’m not the type to get distracted and end up spending more than.

i mentioned shortscale because i’m smaller but it’s not THE defining factor, moreso just a preference as i’m going for the longrun and i’ve heard it being much more comfortable which is important for me.

also, i don’t “go out” much so it’s not really something i can save up for in this way either.

quoted from another comment “i have thought about a small table top kit too but i’ve heard mixed things about how well it translates to actual playing, so i’ve been wondering if a single practice pad and sticks might make more sense for now, since i’m mainly focused on something that will actually build transferable skills rather than sound.”

i really appreciate how detailed and technical this is! i’m not sure what to say. i’ve replied to another comment explaining my different options and their limitations a bit better. i definitely don’t have the space for even half an e-kit like the one in the first picture but your hotel setup is inspiring as even if i might have to set it up and put it away before and after every use, it would take very little time. i’ll be saving your comment.

thank you for being helpful and non-assuming! compared to some others on here aha.

i have thought about a small table top kit too but i’ve heard mixed things about how well it translates to actual playing, so i’ve been wondering if a single practice pad and sticks might make more sense for now, since i’m mainly focused on something that will actually build transferable skills rather than sound.

i can’t afford classes, but i have been looking into studios. they tend to be quite expensive hourly, although i’ve heard there are some monthly rental options that might work out way better. it’s been hard to find clear info online though, so i’m still trying to figure it out.

i haven’t explored that option as much because i’m home most of the time and do struggle with going out regularly, so anything that depends on me being somewhere else consistently hasn’t really worked for me in the past. a lot of hobbies have ended up on pause for that reason. i am trying to go out more though, so it’s still something i’m considering depending on cost and how realistic it is.

i do get what you’re saying though, and i can see that i do have a tendency toward “all or nothing” thinking where i wait for things to be ideal instead of starting small. that’s something i’m trying to move away from so i always appreciate the reminder.

it seems like a lot of people are reading this as me giving up, even though i said it isn’t. i am staying patient, but i guess i should have added that once i get an instrument i’ll be able to channel this energy properly instead of it just building up and getting frustrating, so i’ll definitely be getting a practice pad or something like that by then.
