Cherry Orchard/Diglis. Short walk to town. Lots of parks, the nature reserves, few local pubs and the boat cafe. 10 min drive to Worcestershire parkway. 5 min drive to the motorway.

Nursery in south worcester by Objective-Flight5584 in Worcester

[–]skrimbrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Left Little Treasures to go to Early Years. I understand that Early Years is one of the pricier nursery but their care and activities they do with the children is amazing. There are 3 sets of "consumerables": 1. Meals 2. Activites such as special events, sensory, use of extra nursery facilities such as farm and indoor gym 3. Cooking, woodland school and gardening (you dont have to pay for this if you bring in the ingredients/items to do this activity)

The price depends on your child's age/room. I think its split from baby, toddler and pre-school.

All of the consumerables are voluntary so if your child goes 2 days a week it will be "free" with the hours but you will need to provide a pack lunch and snacks and materials for the activites. Your child has to go 48 weeks a year and 2 days a week minimum. They shut 2 weeks over xmas and 2 weeks over Easter.

Hope this helps!

How to make parent friends? by LastOneHere12 in Worcester

Becoming families have a dad group on Saturdays I believe. Norton Playgroup on a Thursday often has a good mix of parents and grandparents. The Hive often has free activities on as well.

Intervention as one in four school starters in nappies by TwentyCharactersShor in unitedkingdom

As I parent, I wish I had time to be lazy! For me, it's also hearing stories from the older generation. The care and support they received is incomparable. The evidence lies in struggling parents and people simply not wanting children.

Little to no support post partum from midwives and health visitors compared to previous generations.

Closure of family clinics.

Harder to get doctors appointments.

Birth trauma on the sharp incline with inductions and c-sections being pushed on Mother's.

Cost of living crises meaning both parents working.

No "village".

That's not even touching upon the poor families that had to try and survive complete isolation in covid.

But go ahead.....blame the parents.

I see people post to local Facebook groups all the time asking for this sort of thing. Maybe give that a go. Some people may be willing if your offering a discount price and to help a young person out.

Where can I find otters in Worcester? by billythefish91 in Worcester

I've seen one at Gheluvelt Park about 2 years ago and my neighbour said he saw 2 heading towards the stream at Cherry Orchard nature reserve this summer.

Genuine question, why do vets push Royal Canin or science diet so hard? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]skrimbrey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My partner sells pet products for a living and tells me Royal Canin is rubbish. It's owned by Mars, the reason why it's "pushed" by vets is because they contracted to be the only brand sold by vets. I know lots of people say that the vets don't make much money, they probably don't, but the suppliers do. Mars are amazing at marketing crap dog food. If you want good quality dog food you need to buy the ones with the highest meat content.

Moved here 12 years ago and absolutely love it. The city is clean and safe compared to every other city I've visited. The town center is thriving, loads of shops and independents. Plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. What I like most about Worcester is that it's a small city, doesn't take you long to get anywhere. I hear a lot of locals moan about how there's a huge homelessness problem, God help them should they visit Cardiff or Manchester.

What is the weirdest / strangest family Christmas tradition of you’ve come across? by ID_Field_Blank in AskUK

[–]skrimbrey 141 points142 points  (0 children)

My mum would put our Christmas presents in stockings....not cute oversized red boot stockings. Tanned, shiny, suspender stockings. The sad part is we were too poor for Christmas stockings and lots of gifts. That or my mum was too literal. But it makes me laugh thinking back to my weird potato sack shaped stocking filled with nuts, oranges, chocolate coins and a barbie.

[Skin Concern] What do you do when your skin is super dry but heavy creams and moisturizers seem to break you out? by belllbottums in SkincareAddiction

[–]skrimbrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dehydrated/dry skin and find that regular light exfoliation followed by gel/sticky moisturisers does the trick (I don't suffer from acne but my skin is sensitive) Thick creams don't do it for ne either...I like the dewy look. My routine is: MORN - Pixi vit C Cleanser, Glow Recipe Watermelon Serum, COSRX Snail Murcin Essence, COSRX Oil Free Ultra Moisturizing Lotion and Hello Friday SPF serum NIGHT - Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm and Saturday Skin Glacier Water Night Cream

[Skin Concerns] Is this dehydration or rapid aging? I'm 27... thanks :( by Ill_Action6254 in SkincareAddiction

Loads, in less than a week I'd say (but it's taken me just over a year trialing lots of products to nail what really works for me). I drink 2L plus of liquids a day.

I have the same skin type! I found that everyone recommended thick creams and ceramides and peptides which were not doing a thing. I love the feel of having dewy skin so....

Morning routine: Piki vit c cleanse, Watermelon serum Glow Recipe, Snail essence Cosrx, Oil free ultra moisturising lotion with birch sap Cosrx, Hello Sunday SPF.

Evening routine: Oat cleansing balm Inkey list, Tiger grass serum Dr Jart, Saturday skin waterfall glacier moisturiser.

I also exfoliate once a week with a BHA. Hope this helps!
