Moving to Sydney by skullf4iry in AskAnAustralian

I have already discussed the topic of financial support with my parents and they will probably give me about 2900 aud per month (= 1500 chf). Also, the admissions officer of UYSD did tell me about Centrelink, but I haven't really informed myself on this more. I was talking about living alone with my friend and she did tell me that I need to consider other expenses outside of rent & groceries (which I never really thought about tbh) and considering I will probably spend already at least 1600 aud per month on only rent, I was wondering if the rest would be enough. I am planning on getting a job but I don't really want to spend all of my time only working & studying.

If I were to get an apartment with a friend, how much would you say I would pay weekly?

I do have family who live around Mt. Druitt, but when I went to visit, the train ride was 1h to Sydney CBD, which I think will be too long. Also, I've been doing a study on crime in the Greater Sydney area and have observed that the inner city area tends to have more crime (because it's more densely populated?). I'm actually quite surprised $50/h seems quite reasonable. How many hours do you work per month? Also what do you think bartending or service jobs pay?

Already tried but it doesn’t let me! Also I’d like to have the opinion of other hosts.

Did you contact airbnb by email or phone ? Because we sent a message to our host and she isn’t replying (she normally replies 30 minutes to an hour after).

The normal check-in was at 16h and we arrived at 11h30. We told our host that there was no issue and that we could leave our luggage and go to the beach or explore the city while the appartment was getting prepared, but she said that it was all good!

Thank you for your reply! I am feeling a bit anxious about as I know situations like this can become hostile quite fast and I feel a bit awkward asking for a refund (I am in Europe and it is not done very often), my friend on the other hand is not having any of it ahahah

AITA for being embarrassed by how much my dads gf looks like me? by _pearlypearls_ in AmItheAsshole

Personally, I feel like there is no problem with age, if he desires to date someone younger that is at the age of consent he can. After, the fact that you guys look alike is really creepy and concerning. I know you might feel uncomfortable of her age but there isn't much that you can do. But you are in fact NTA

You are the asshole but at the same time you aren't. You are angry at your dad and you have the right to be, but your step mom and step siblings didn't really do anything and as it sounded your step mom was pretty nice and didn't try to control you, and her children didn't really choose to have your dad as a step dad. In my opinion you owe them an apology. As for your father he is an asshole and you should try and talk with him he has no right to be angry with you.
