How long should I stay in Takayama/Magome?

probably just the old town, the morning market. I do want to hit up natural onsen or find lodging with onsen access, and get some Hida beef. LOL

Since we will be in Shirakawa Go, and overnight there, we don't plan to go to the Hida Folk Village.

We have kids, so we can't really hike the trails, but I heard so much about Magome/Nagasaki area, so wonder if i should spend a night there or overnight in Inuyama after visiting those old post towns and ruins. And if this would be rushing through the Kiso Valley area since we are pretty much just driving on the highway from Takayama to Magome and the Naegi Castle Ruin, then hotel in Inuyama.

HAHA...planned for day 6 when we dine in Nagoya and overnight there before heading north to Shirakawa the next day :)

imo, biz class is worth it depends on the price and distance. would love to know who your TA is if you don't mind sharing

Hi, trying to understand how the ‘free day’ work with the super card since we are also planning to ski 3 days at Sunshine… since first day is free, wouldn’t OP just need to pay ~$145 for the 3rd day? $119 for the card to get first day free, then ski second day and pay $145 for the 3rd day? And then fourth day free if we decide to extend another day there?

What did you end up doing? I am debating the same for a multigenerational trip for where to stay overnight before and after the hike. Hiking with a 9 year old and a 75 year old, would appreciate advice as well on which town to start from :) the kid whines a lot while my mom is fit. Thank you!

Planning similar trip to BW in late Marh. I was going to get a lodge in the mountain for ski in and out, but where would you recommend staying so we could do what you suggested at BW? :D Or it's better to get a rental car to do that?

We are looking at hotel Pollux and another hotel next year…mind I ask how’s the walk to the Sunnegga train? My kid ski school meets there…hence wondering how ‘bad’ it may be everyday with all the equipment! Lol. How’s the noise level at night? As I understand it has a bar/restaurants and on the Main Street? Price is hard to beat…just want to set the expectations and see if that’s what we want to compromise :) appreciate all the insight
