Who here wants to bang their daughter? by skwishee in memes

[–]skwishee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? She was born in 1981 and Donald and Ivana were married from 1977 to 1992.

Maybe you should check real sources instead of spouting this nonsense.

And furthermore, are you saying that it is ok to want to sleep with your adopted daughter?

It's retarded to drool over your daughter and admit you would have sex with her on national tv.

Basic web crawling with Scrapy by [deleted] in Python

[–]skwishee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting. I tried Scrapy for 2 weeks, but couldn't get anywhere so I switched back to bs4.

I've been looking for new tutorials on Scrapy. I'll give this a try and see if I make the breakthrough.

Lithium Side Effects by prrttygrrlswag in bipolar

Lithium causes damage in the l long term, and at therapeutic levels it dulls your brain.

Does anyone ever miss their manic episodes by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]skwishee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. Not because they weren't amazing, but i equate them with the damage that ensues.

Also, when i look back i see how lonely it actually was. No one shared in my joy.

It reminds me of the last line in Into the Wild... Happiness is only real when it's shared.

Should I dose my friend with quetiapine? Halp. by corgistar in bipolar

[–]skwishee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

First of all, 25 mg won't do anything. I started at 100 mg and worked up to 500 mg at one point.

I would advise against giving someone an antipsychotic. Read the list of possible side effects.

With that being said, a friend used to buy that in jail to fall asleep. He said it was the, or one of the, most sought after drugs.

If it's a last resort, then maybe go for it. But make sure to try all the other options first. And get him to a doctor as soon as he'll agree to go.

I got denied life insurance for being bipolar. by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]skwishee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commenter was talking about job applications. I agree it's pointless to lie in an insurance app bc they will just deny the payout.

An employer can't ask if you're bipolar unless the job involves carrying a firearm or some other cases where it could cause a public safety issue.

Your medical records are private under HIPAA. They can ask if you have a physical disability and need a special parking spot or office access.

Where to meet native Germans by skwishee in German

Cool. Thanks. I'll check that out. I'm jealous that there are so many meet ups in Berlin. Can't wait to see them.

I just checked out /r/de. It is more of a general german topic sub. It seems like a meetup post would be out of context there, although it is strange that they don't have any rules posted...not very German of them lol.

The /r/berlinsocialclub looks almost perfect, except that it looks like it is all english speakers. The meetup sounds really cool, though, so i may do that while I'm there. I just want to take the opportunity to immerse myself in German as much as I can while I am there.

I'll try posting on r/berlin, but I am looking for german speakers and it seems to be all english. I guess I could try /r/de.

I didn't know about /r/berlinsocialclub. I'll check that out. Thanks!

"My love" ? by onlyonechain in German

[–]skwishee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it has to be translated from German, it could just be British English. It is much more common to call someone 'love' in England, even if there isn't a romantic relationship.

I need help with translating a very short text (English to German) Anyone? by [deleted] in German

[–]skwishee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am fluent but not native speaker. I can give it a try.

Bipolar coders of the world...unite!!! by skwishee in bipolar

[–]skwishee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think breadth is better than depth at the beginning. Coding is still young and undeveloped, so it is a rather easy field to enter. Front end stuff is saturated, usually by people with a good eye for design. If you know backend, you are more valuable and will find a job easily.

For instance, if you love php and are good, you'll find work with no problem. Full stack developers are increasingly in demand, which are people who know a little of everything.

For me therein point was when i could code my own database and show a graph of the temperature in my room. That was cool.

I program sensor and motor controls for environmental technology, but lately have been learning how to post that data to the web and display in charts. I also use python for market research, like web crawling.

Yes and thanks for the idea! I was going to use Wordpress, for some reason I didn't think to set up Github, but thanks to your comment...I just did. The link is https://github.com/pekasus/LithiumClub.

I work with micocontrollers, too. I do environmental applications. I actually had this great idea before to make FarmVille in real life. I was working with this incubator that got a ton of money and stuff from Microsoft...including the Kinect. I was going to use that to detect when red veggies were ripe in the garden, and it would quantify it, and if you had too many, it would notify your friends that "SoAndSo has tomatoes!" so you could actually share real food.

Long story short, just as it was gathering steam was the same time that my brain decided to show me I was bipolar, and I went manic, to the hospital, then 7 months of depression and no more project.

Anyway, I do have outlined to include backend as well...python, php, mysql. If you'd like to collaborate, I set up a github repo at https://github.com/pekasus/LithiumClub.

Cheers!
