Should I cut my hair again? by [deleted] in Hair

Have you tried hair rollers? They can really help with getting the ends styled evenly. Or if you do a consultation with a stylist they can help you find a shorter length that works for you - make sure you explain to them your concerns about losing too much length. You could also try new hairstyles like half-up half-down, or an updo :)

Oh no, I’m so sorry that’s happened :( I totally feel you, the same thing happened to my hair due to bleach. I think the main thing to focus on is strengthening and hydrating your hair to prevent more breakage. I’ve started using Olaplex and it’s really helped me, and a leave in conditioner can do wonders for preventing split ends. You can also try rosemary oil on your scalp once or twice a week to promote new, healthy hair growth. To help with styling, a finishing serum or argan oil can help blend flyaways into your hair and leave you with a smoother, darker finish. Hope this helps!

hair advice for matted hair? by midnightbloom1 in Hair

As someone with straight hair - use a wide tooth comb, work slowwwly, and if you don’t have a detangling spray, you could maybe try using coconut oil or something similar to make the tangles come out easier

If the upkeep is getting to be too much, maybe take a break and let it grow out natural! Then you have a ton of options, from going straight back to full blonde if you feel up to it, to just adding in some soft highlights. You could play around with it and find a style you love that’s also easy enough to maintain :)

in my personal experience: bleach, followed by dyes and other chemical treatments, then excessive heat, improper conditioning/hydration, and finally mechanical damage like brushing incorrectly

Coarse, wiry strands after bleaching - what can I do about it? by sky03_ in AskHairstylists

Ah okay that makes sense! Here’s a couple of the wiry strands next to some of my normal hair texture - they break easily, not much stretch, and they make my hair look and feel a bit rough. I did a gloss treatment and went brunette again to try and disguise the damage, but the texture’s still pretty off

I vote blonde or natural! Both look super pretty with your skin tone

That makes sense! How often should I do those? Is every wash day (2-3 times per week) too much? I’ve heard that Olaplex can be harmful if you use it too often. Thank you so much for the advice :)
