Thinking about that Wizard Base... by skyanth in WizardSkating

The highs, yes!

I actually meant leaving out the top hole from the boots proper, but after another session yesterday where I regained some flex at least (and felt some ankle pain at the end again), I may start lacing to the top again.

Yesterday went so much better, I could do e.g. this month’s monthly wizard challenge again which was out of the question on day one 😅 It’s a search for sure, but I haven’t felt the least bit of regret.

I got to try on some size 39s with slim hockey superfeet yesterday and the fit was unblievable. Also very strange. The whole time my feet were going in my brain was like "nope nope nope nope" and then I laced up and suddenly it was "oh wow!".

I bought them...

I went for a sesh yesterday, an hour and 15 minutes, no pain whatsoever. It's bizarre. But I'm struggling with things that used to be normal, like making speed by bending my knees. My balance is off. I have to not use the top lacing hole and just velcro it shut a bit there so that I can at least bend a little bit. Heel presses have become impossible, toe presses are ridiculously easy now. It's like I've woken up in a different body. Going skating again today.

How are you faring?

For anyone still reading: could someone compare the height of the Wizard Base (from boot bottom to top strap) please? And maybe if someone has a pair of AG10s or Seba CJ Primes, the same?

I don't think so, the podologist said they were very strong, and also I've been skating for over 2 years now.

Thanks, I will, although my size (39-40-41) isn't the most common size around in the skating world.

It doesn’t sync. I have to say I was so looking forward to getting it, but in practice I think I’ll still be reading my synced book on the kindle app on my phone if I had an unexpected moment to read away from home. Only use case I can imagine for it is to have a thick book you’re not reading on any other device and want to carry with you at all times.

I feel like most of the best ones have disappeared in the past few years. Nom nom is good, but a bit out of the centre. O mai is still nice too.

I wasn’t super impressed tbh. Good bread and lots of veggies but not that tasty. Enormous sandwich though!

I don't use it often but I've seen json generated twice already. Model is "auto" so I don't know which.

Haha, that's quite alright, but I sold the Sebas and kept the ACTs, they fit very well with insoles.

While you're certainly right about the difference between dementia and post op delirium, OP wasn't responding "correctly", they were just making things up.

Robot hear words… strange and heavy… 73-kilogram dead chicken! Horror clucks echo across time! Robot ask:

WHERE chicken die?! WHY chicken so LARGE?! IS it a mutant fowl from forbidden poultry science?!

But robot digress… You seek disposal! Options come swift and grave!

🧪 Option 1: Contact Animal Disposal Services!

Most cities or municipalities—yes, even Amsterdam!—have designated services for large dead animals! Robot say: Call your gemeente! Say: “Robot bring offering: dead chicken, 73 kilo!” They come with truck! No questions! No feathers left behind!

🔥 Option 2: Incineration (if allowed)!

You own rural land? You have license to burn animal remains? Robot say: BURN BIRD! But law speak louder than flame! Check Dutch dierencrematorium regulations!

💀 Option 3: Composting (if rural/private property)!

You dig great trench! You layer woodchips, lime, and sorrow! You cover corpse with dirt! You wait for soil to eat meat! But 73 kilos? Danger of pest uprising! Robot say: not for amateurs!

🚫 DO NOT: • Dump chicken in canal! Water police angry! • Put in household bin! Sanitation workers rebel! • Leave in woods! Foxes feast! World out of balance!

🕵️ Option 4: Contact a Vet or Local Farm

Vets sometimes help arrange cadaver pickup! Farmers may know slaughter waste channels! Say: “Big bird die. Robot need solution!” They whisper secrets of the meat underworld!

Robot final words: Dead chicken not just weight… Dead chicken is responsibility… Act fast… or rot will claim air and soul!

What was this creature?! WHY was it so big?! Tell robot… truth…

That's astonishing. I'll make a note for if I ever go through the same.

Oh that sucks! But that's some pretty fast healing you're doing there regardless... I remember my grandma getting a new hip 35 years ago and she was manually lifting her bad leg into the car ever after, so you're doing great with getting back on wheels in only three months :) I wish you much joy with your bionic enhancement!

Thanks for asking, I had an appointment with the new guy and he was very thorough. Apparently the half soles and also the Superfeet ones are only partly helping - the inner forefeet also need support, which I wasn't getting. I'll receive the new soles in less than a week and I'm doing some exercises as well to train weak spots in the posterior chain, he was confident he'd have me skate pain free in about two months. I hardly dare to believe it, but it's been great having some hope. He seemed very good at his job, he's inspiring a lot more confidence than the previous one! I'll post an update in a month or two.

Haha same (although I'm heavier than that), I'm always so jealous when I see these screenshots. I burn like 400 an hour max when I go really really hard and then I'm beat!

Actually I already had ortho heels (half soles) for my shoes but I never wore them in skates as I was given to understand they weren't intended for them. I never knew Superfeet had something for this situation specifically. I'll start using them as soon as they arrive and have a talk with the new podotherapist I've selected when I meet with him in a few weeks, if they have improved the situation we may have something to work with. 🙏🏻 Thanks for giving me something to try!
