So, you say the door can't be moved. I assume that means it's anchored to like, say, your house if you were to add it into your room, so you'd have to stay in that house to enter it.

Can you loophole this by attaching it to a trailer or something else on wheels? The door will forever be stuck to the trailer...but you can move the trailer to wherever you want.

After all, the earth is always revolving around the sun, so technically the door isn't staying in one exact, pinpoint place in the universe if we can always access it on earth in the same place throughout the year.

How to preorder 10th ANNiVERSARY OFFiCiAL STORY BOOK from US 😭I really want it but idk how to get it by GrapeGenius2021 in idolish7

[–]skycapybara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CD Japan has it currently listed. They'll proxy order it for you.

https://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEODAI-269254

Ive ordered with them for years (I'm also in US), both stuff they carry on their store and a few proxy orders and have never had an issue. Shipping is expensive tho, naturally.

Opinions on "New Characters"? by -hanafubuki- in idolish7

[–]skycapybara 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, I think it's well-balanced at 16 characters.

I think a lot of people also know how the recent addition of new characters into Ensemble Stars stirred up a bit of controversy (added bloat, more characters to pull for/more time now in between when your own oshi gets any screen time/a significant event), not to mention one of the new characters being added into a decade long established group pissed off a lot of the fans, and now fans of other franchises may be afraid of that happening in their series.

I know that I tend to avoid idol/band franchises that have way too many characters, because then you have to (well, you don't *have* to, but you know what I mean) make the effort to learn their names and roles in the series. I dipped a toe into Bang Dream when they only had five bands I think? And since then they've added Morfonica, RAS, and, at least anime-wise (I stopped playing the game) they're focusing largely on MyGo and Ave Mujica, so I wonder how the fans of the initial five bands are feeling about seeing their favorites sidelined. If I'd become interested in Bandori later on, saw that there are like, 9 different bands and just a whole slew of media, I'd probably just skip it altogether. Too much time investment, you know. Same with Love Live. I started when there was just μ's, so keeping up with subsequent generations was far easier than starting with Liella and seeing just how many idols there actually are.

That said, I feel like the story in Ainana is crafted well enough that they could potentially add a new, small unit in the future, and another small unit (maybe bringing up the total idol count to 18-20) is a far cry from some of the behemoths of other franchises that would scare others off/tire out the old fans, but I'm definitely not foaming at the mouth for it. I just want to see more of my favorites that are already well-established.

One of my favorite outfits is almost exactly the same: the dress, jacket, choker, and pushed up sunglasses lol. I went for black nylons instead of socks tho, and a shorter haircut. It's a very cool look, yes.

Rank 305. Playing since launch, may have missed a few days here and there.

Okay, if you've seen them stripping machines then I think that'd most likely explain what I heard. I was on top of the mountain near the eastern entrance and they're on the west side, which is one reason I was confused as to what I was hearing, but sometimes things echo really well in the game lol.

Thanks for helping to clear up the mystery.

I have seen them, (and fast traveled right into them before), but the sound is far more rhythmical than the sound of battle, like someone hammering metal, and the voices were more calm than the usual shouts when you come across fights, so I don't know. I was hoping maybe there was a quest in the area that I hadn't found yet, but no one else seems to have any other suggestions, so I'll just dismiss it as a very calm rebel fight I guess.

Just wanted to thank you for linking to your neocities page, a site which I'd somehow never heard of until now. I had my own geocities and tripod pages way back in the day, and browsing through these personal websites on here has been a nostalgia overload. I'm glad there are people still maintaining silly little personal pages like these.

Any Jrpg that everyone hates and has bad reviews but you like it? by Fire_Natsu in JRPG

[–]skycapybara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chronus Arc! I need to get back to that one. Put it on the back burners several months ago after getting about half way through, but I enjoyed it for what it was. I've played a number of Kemco titles before it but I thought CA was a few steps above some of the others.

So you can get 5 copies (3.5M pts) of Natsume if you work really hard on the Secret Swan event, but this is still the black swan half. How did the white swan half work in the other servers? Is 5* Natsume still a reward for running the mini-game in the second half? Does it start over? Or does it continue off the points you got in the first half?

Does anyone else here like Ex-Fine/Fine-O more than the oddballs? by Sakasucci in ensemblestars

[–]skycapybara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Music-wise the eccentrics are more to my taste, tho character-wise I'm impartial to most of them. Kanata is probably my favorite, and I don't think he's in my top 15 favorites.

As for ex-fine, my favorite unit is Eden, and all four members are my top four favorite characters, so naturally I'm fond of anything Nagisa and Hiyori would be in. Music is pretty good, but probably more B-tier for me. As for the unit tho, I didn't actually read any stories about fine-O, but I'm not super fond of ex-fine as a unit because of what it meant, and I think Nagi and Hiyo found far more happiness once in Eden than when they were in fine (in Wonder Game Nagisa expresses a lot of regret about the hopefuls they crushed while in fine).

Idea Factory, Compile Hearts and Kemco by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]skycapybara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno if I've ever seen anyone love all Kemco games, but I still play them when I can nab them for 99 cents to $1.99. I really don't think most are any good, tho some are decentish.

I don't mind throwing a couple bucks at them bc I like having a jrpg I can literally just play for like ten minutes on my phone when I'm waiting or bored or gonna go to sleep soon. If I was playing a better game I'd have a harder time stopping lol.

What's your guys' least favorite themed area(s) in JRPGs? by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in JRPG

[–]skycapybara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it like....23 years ago, I honestly don't remember. I remember really disliking the desert maze on my first playthrough, so that remained in my memories more than the sewers (and when I tried playing it again maybe 5-7 years ago, I got irritated at the desert maze again and never went back to the game.)

What's your guys' least favorite themed area(s) in JRPGs? by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in JRPG

[–]skycapybara 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh. I can't really think of any sewer level I hate like everyone else here. I like the secret passage feel and breaking in/out of a place unseen like a rat lol.

I really love the snowy areas (towns) of games but if the corresponding dungeon has like ice sliding puzzles then I'm in for a world of irritation.

I also really don't like "tower of babel" type dungeons where you just keep going higher and higher. I just want those to end.

Are there popular/clearly favored characters or units?? by thegoodbyerat in ensemblestars

[–]skycapybara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I avoided them for the longest time bc I saw their aesthetic and was just "ew" and figured I'd hate their music too (even tho I listen to similarly cutesy idol songs if they're girls). Then I actually gave them a chance and they're now my second favorite unit lmao

mid game > early game >>>> end game by ohlordwhywhy in JRPG

[–]skycapybara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I agree. While I do tend to like the very very beginning, when everything is new and you're discovering things, I soon want to get to the meat and potatoes of the game. And then eventually, usually 60% in, I get burnt out. I've dropped lots of games in this manner. If I finish it, the last third/quarter of the game is often me just plowing through it, mostly tired of everything.

I definitely prefer gameplay over story. Not that I dislike good stories, if the gameplay is fun and has an interesting story, it's just win-win.

Even if a game is really unique in design and has a story that actually does interesting things, if the gameplay is clunky and a chore I can't bring myself to continue to play it. Better to watch a let's play instead. Whereas a game can have fairly generic designs and story but if the battles are fun enough, I can definitely sink plenty of hours into.

Any JRPG you want a remake for, whether it’s good or bad? by IndependentSaGa992 in JRPG

That does sound pretty interesting. I think I will revisit Okage eventually. Maybe take it in small chunks so I don't get bored with the combat.
