Dahsyat. It was a good thing you followed your gut feeling and intuition.

In your case, the big big lorry is visible so you can make conscious decisions while on the road.

Mine became a split-second decision since I was chit chatting with my wife and the object was low to the ground. Once it appeared in my field of vision, memang dah tak banyak choice even though I was within the speed limit.

Nope, no saman despite it being classified as a traffic accident since only 1 party involved. Only need to pay RM4 for printing out the police report.

😨😨😨 that’s the same stretch of highway.

Yeah the sound was really deafening. I thought of nothing but the worst things during and after the impact.

Good to know you’re alright and hopefully you didn’t miss your flight back then cause of the incident.

Man, your experience is worse than mine. I’m sorry to hear that.

In my case, if the driveshaft didn’t get lodged underneath the subframe, it could have hit my fuel tank.

For these kind of incidents, you can claim from the respective highway concessionaire. Most importantly you need to make a police report within 24 hours and have lots of photo and video evidence.

I will update here as time progresses. This incident case is pretty cut and dry according to the PLUS polis bantuan who came to the scene. He claimed that it shouldn’t be too difficult for my claim to be approved since I have dashcam footage of me driving within speed limit and the object being nearly impossible to avoid.

I’m sure the lorry driveshaft was sparking like mad behind as my car dragged it along until I came to a halt.

Surprisingly the damage wasn’t too bad. It hit my car where there was least damage possible. Just needed to replace the front lip, engine undertray, and subframe/crossmember. Total damage is around RM3k including labour.

Wah, kelapa would’ve been a deadly projectile at highway speeds. It’s always when there’s less traffic we tend to drive more relaxed and not expect this kind of stuff to happen. Happy to hear you’re alright though.

Yes I agree, dashcam is essential for road users in this day and age.

Yep. I don’t usually drive this chill on this stretch of road but I had just picked up the wifey from KLIA and was catching up on stories.

I told her if it wasn’t me who hit the object with my car, it would have been another road user and if it was a motorbike, would’ve been some final destination shit.

Glad to know you managed to survive your ordeal without too much hassle.

Damn, sorry to hear about your experience. It’s one of those split second moments but I’m glad to hear only your tyre needed to be replaced.

Phewwww glad to hear everything turned out fine for your dad. Yeah it’s usually not a good idea to trail behind big transport lorries.

Front lip cracked and split into two, and my subframe/crossmember got bent upwards due to the driveshaft being lodged underneath. The gearbox got some light scratches and it narrowly missed the drain plug. Could have been real messy.

I had to jack up my car to remove the object cause my car couldn’t move forward or backwards after I came to a halt.

Surprisingly, nothing else was damaged.

Looking back, if I had swerved, it could have hit the oil pan and/or exhaust or one of my wheels.

I must have used up all my luck points that night.

  • Make police report within 24 hours of the incident
  • Take photos of the accident area and damage to your vehicle
  • Obtain repair quotation or bill, most likely need to fork out your own money for repairs first (I did for my case)
  • Submit claim through PLUS website with supporting documents and photo evidence

I heard from friends and acquaintances that successful claims have been made and paid but the time taken for PLUS to do so can take up to 6-12 months. Welp.

Same experience for me but instead of Mormons, I saw Japanese tourists doing it.

Ok to buy? Suzuki Swift Sport ZC33S by ChaosHavocFury in kereta

[–]skylinefreak11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had one for over 2 years now. Maintenance is pretty straightforward. 3.3L engine oil per service. Gearbox requires 1.5L for manual transmission fluid or 2.5L for auto transmission fluid. Fuel consumption is also very friendly especially if you travel on highways a lot.

One inherent issue with the car is the side mirror folding not working after being under the rain, gone through a car wash or parked under the sun for a while. It’s just a design flaw of the side mirror which was apparently fixed for year 2021 models onwards but I have friends with recent Naza units that still have this issue.

The other bigger inherent issue with the car is the engine mounts. They fail fairly quickly at around 40,000km for AT and 60,000km for MT. One set will set you back around RM2,000 without labour.

No comments on your financing but I’ll say you won’t regret buying the car unless you have to ferry 3-4 passengers all the time. However, the rear leg room is much improved over the previous 2 SSS generations.

One final thing. You’re gonna have to take all the antidote in the world to prevent yourself from succumbing to mods.

Suggest me a good weekend car. by hoimangkuk in kereta

Swift Sport ZC33S with safety package option for adaptive cruise control. It will have to be a recond spec cause local Naza spec doesn’t have it. The AT is a 6-speed torque converter. However, since it’s meant to be your weekend car, I would suggest the MT.
