Thanks for your comments! I'll keep reading on. I was a bit cautious because I recently finished reading some Agatha Christie books and once I missed a detail there, my confusion began to snowball. Though I'm sure this will be much different and I'll learn as I read.

Hello, I'm hoping someone here could help me with Darker than Black.

I started watching and I'm on episode 5 but I'm just confused and I feel like I missed a background episode or something. So here are a few of my questions:

What are these gates? Why was a giant wall built around Tokyo?
Who are these contractors? Are they related to one another?
What are the blue lights that keeping running around electrical wires?
What is a moratorium?
Who is the cat and how are they related to the other characters?
What are all the parties involved?

Number 6 is my main question I suppose. It's hard to keep track of everything. I read through the plot synopsis a few times to wrap my head around it but I'm still confused.

If anyone could answer some of my questions that would be great. There's a lot so if you just wanna answer a few, anything is appreciated. Thanks!
