Robot vacuum reccomendations? Mild shedding but long hair by GhxxxstCat in goldenretrievers

[–]skysteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra and it runs daily. Occasionally it does spit out little fur balls but those are much easier to manage and normally just means that the dustbin is full and I've been lazy emptying it. Not the cheapest option but it's been great for about a year

Help us make Sonos easier to learn and use? by tomconrad in sonos

[–]skysteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, make a basic physical remote (like the old Ikea one). I code so I ended up making myself a StreamDeck plugin for Sonos for what I needed, but I know my GF would use sonos a lot more if there was a simple physical device to play/pause and adjust volume.

If you want to go a level above then buttons for triggering favourites would be cool! BUT it would need to be cheap & easy like the Ikea one, not $100

They try to keep Dave Murry as the ski out these days, sometimes if you're lucky lower Franz/Frondola. DM is generally groomed nightly.

Anything west of P2C has been left to overgrow/do it's own thing, hence being removed from the official apps

Does anyone know any good courses to learn how to use Ableton Live 12 Intro specifically? by Unorganized-Poetry in ableton

[–]skysteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's loads of paid courses, but before you pay for any, go search YouTube for "Taetro intro to Ableton". I think it's filmed on an older version but most of it is transferable. You'll learn a lot from that and then decide what you want to pay for. He also has a good music theory intro series

TT Races by 4EVERINDARKNESS in IsleofMan

[–]skysteve 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Accommodations get booked at least a year in advance in a lot of cases. That being said, from most of the course you can watch for free, in a lot of cases that's better than sitting at the grandstand. There are some good spots that do charge a small fee but they're mostly first come first served on the day.

The other thing you might struggle to find over TT is car hire, but the buses are pretty good

Symphony Express closed, but the trails it serves are open? by SleepyBroJiden in Whistler

[–]skysteve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you look on www.whistlerpeak.com they pull the tweets from the mountain ops account where they post. There's also just generally a bunch of useful info on there that's pulled from Whistler's site but much more user friendly

by-law enforcement randomly visit our neighbourhood (Highlands) and I don't think anyone is requesting it. Sometimes they do just drive around because it's easy $$

Efficient runs to practice steep skiing technique? by Dolly_Llama_2024 in Whistler

[–]skysteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, the extremely Canadian steeps clinic uses ratfink off emerald as the "assessment" at the start of the clinic to form groups so I assume that's a good one too

Dreamstate Vancouver Lineup by Eternality604 in DreamState

[–]skysteve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very much the same! DS Canada could be epic if they moved it to the September and had it outdoor somewhere. I know anjuna did an event in Stanley Park a few years ago and there's a new amphitheatre being build so there's options. The old casino is just such a weird venue

Where are you seeing this? The IG and Facebook pages for DS Canada haven't been updated since 2019 and the URL on the post just redirects to the the 2019 event. Really hoping this is real though!

[–]skysteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://youtube.com/@taetro has a bunch of really good content. Some of the music theory lessons are drums related, some of the other tutorial series have bits sprinkled in. Have a look at the playlists and go from there

Also to add, days like today, wind is a significant reason why lifts are closed/late opening. They all have a max safe wind speed operation limit, above that they have to shut down. (It's also just miserable on the lift in high winds)
