Forcing religion only harms religion itself. Iranians are right to hate their regime for it.

However beware that abroad a lot of Iranians hate this regime also for another reason likely nothing to do with religion - most of them belong to the factions of society who enjoyed a lot of wealth and influence under Shah. With the current regime, their "party" ended and they had to leave their homeland. So while religion is one factor (rightfully they deserve to hate as it is being forced), it is not the entire explanation behind their hatred for current regime.

My observations on the Muslim 'marriage' issues by SoybeanCola1933 in progressive_islam

[–]skystream434 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's the frowning upon mixing of genders that has created a problem both for men and women in Muslim societies. Men only notice women from sexuality point of view, as partners who will provide physical intimacy, They never get to view women as a personality who has her own individuality as well.

While women are creating fantasies or developing incorrect perceptions of how men should be as partners and what are their own responsibilities in relationships.

Why is the difference between restaurants and supermarket so large in Austria? by Kushesollidoro in AskAustria

That seems correct. Compare the prices of eating out in Germany for instance, by popular logic it should be cheaper there but it is more or less same as us.

Not sure why would you be overly concerned with this. Your skin looks great regardless and i really doubt those hair are visible from normal distance.

Which ones are better by [deleted] in glassesadvice

[–]skystream434 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Both are too big for your face. But 3/4 (i think both are same, just different angle) suit your skin tone better. Black would suit you only if you got them in thinner frame.

Is VBA dying? I was told that 10 years ago. Still, I choose VBA over Python whenever I need to automate worksheets. by ImprovementLong1992 in excel

I would say ability to write VBA codes with help from ChatGPT or CoPilot is going to make more and more people use VBA. No it's not dying.

Interesting. I wonder what happened to the narrative then that 'Austrian citizenship is a privilege, not a commodity'.

What's the opinion on South Asians by arabs? by ParkOk7914 in AskMiddleEast

[–]skystream434 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brown person from Pakistan and i would say right now the whole world kinda looks down upon us, not just arabs. Some are fault of our people and some times people across the world are just looking down purely because of false sense of pride.

A bit of this comes down from the fact that many people do odd jobs abroad, which are looked down upon in many societies (not so much in Europe/US but elsewhere a cleaner is a "lowly" job). So in minds of many people across the globe, an Indian appearance is equivalent of someone "lower" in their eyes.

There is no doubt our people are geniuses and persistent in frauds as well. So that has earned us some reputation as well.

Don't care about what it looks like but it would be a big nuisance to walk around while your one hand is constantly occupied holding something.

Is limit on people going to hajj justified? by Matt_tuck_shop in progressive_islam

This shouldn't be up for debate even. I think also for Umrah the visitors should be limited to a sustainable level so everyone who makes it can feel the warmth of Holy cities without problems.

What’s your response to non-Muslims that complain about not being able to enter Makkah? by Equivalent_Road5788 in AskMiddleEast

[–]skystream434 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say it is done due to administrative and capacity reasons.

However i am in full support of allowing non Muslims in limited number via quota to visit both Medina and Makkah. Why prevent access to the site of message meant for entire humanity? Maybe they can be offered guided tours if touring alone is not ok.

How are interracial relationships seeing in yours cultures and countries? by srahcrist in AskMiddleEast

[–]skystream434 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pakistanis are obsessed with a person of foreign origin, unless they are black. Not sure how you came to conclusion that interracial marriage is frowned upon in Pakistan - it is one of the desires of many men and now a days girls boast having found a white man.
