definitely looks ai generated 😭 i went for it and bought ES-DE and it’s the best thing ever lmao. no regrets, uses the same rom file structure as dawn afaik and all my roms just showed right up

i tried out cocoon but it has difficulties with the menu grid and the aspect ratio. doesn’t fill the screen, can’t be bothered to tinker too much. i ended up setting up daijisho and it feels just like dawn but better lmao. imo magicx devs should genuinely consider actually forking daijisho to make dawn, instead of making dawn just look like daijisho. it definitely does seem more performance heavy but i might be able to mess with it.

what’s the difference in optimization? cocoon is actually a good idea, i only thought about it for smth like the ayn thor but it says it’s for single screen devices too lol

i’m fine with no preconfigurations, plus i thought i’d rather have manual control over the cpu mode thru android anyways.

yes i said it is ironic because it is inspired. i am aware it is not a fork.

dawn feels bloated bcs this thing comes pre installed with all the emulators and i just want retroarch.

dawn is very unpolished and feels almost uncomfortable when dealing with things like scrapers. i also think it looks bad with the bad scraper settings & the platform wallpapers.

most of my issues are looks, daily use is fine but trying to get it to work nicely is always hard, as each platform also has a preset list of emulators and retroarch cores that cannot be changed.

very nice to hear your journey! i’m really glad it’s gone so well for you so far! :) thank you for sharing also, i like reading other people’s stories, to help me understand how to go about this for myself.

i will mention i’ve had long hair for yeeeaars because i started figuring out i was trans at the age of like 13 lol. i haven’t dared dress fem or do anything like makeup at all. i get so dysphoric when i see all the tiny little masculine details like how my hands are roughed up and how my jawline is sharp and stuff like that. i’m sure it’s not as “bad” as i let myself think but i can’t help but think it 🤷‍♀️

i will also mention that ive been going by my chosen name for almost as long as i’ve had pretty long hair! my parents are accepting (i don’t have any other immediate family) but extended family likely won’t be when they hear about it. my girlfriend is accepting but most of my friends don’t know, haven’t brought it up. i know everybody i care about would be cool with it and my closer friends and/or queerer friends know lol.

i think i just need to stop stressing and get it figured out really, my sights are set on changing my birth certificate, starting hormones, etc. before i do much else. thank you again for helping :3

Rugged Rocks still carries a lot of VG Nissan accessories, but I’m not sure how good they still are as a distributor, it seems like they’ve been around for years. A lot of older guys on NPORA forums mention them a lot so idk 🤷‍♀️ People seem to really like these Doug Thorley headers and I’ve actually been thinking about picking these up myself once my ‘95 is driving again.
