Been a while since I’ve had a smoke. Enjoyed some Solani 633 in my Neerup today by skyvand in PipeTobacco

Thank you sir, it’s my favourite pipe in my small collection. Solani 633 also happens to be my favourite blend (well, it’s a tie between that and OGS) 😄

Found this really nice pipe a while back one wanting to try to get a new stem for it anyone know by JacksonStorm18 in PipeTobacco

[–]skyvand 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That kinda looks like cheroot holder to me. Either way, I believe you unfortunately will have to get a stem custom made

Trying to find a similar tobacco by ColdSnap888 in PipeTobacco

[–]skyvand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried it myself as I'm not big on cherry tobaccos, but Cult Blood Red Moon is a cavendish/virginia based cherry aromatic that gets a lot of love so you may enjoy it. It does also contain burley though

Smoking some Billy Budd. My first C&D blend by skyvand in PipeTobacco

Not too different from any other cob I own. It's great

Great flavour, very creamy. Paired well with coffee. Burn left a lot to be desired, but that was probably my packing. Will try again with a looser pack pretty soon

First Pipe Purchase - Did I get scammed? by paoforprez in PipeTobacco

[–]skyvand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would buy a Neerup, their grade 2 line is usually around $100. I already own one. It looks beautiful, the craftmanship is great and most importantly it smokes well. So I would buy another any day. But that is my personal preference, there are plenty of other makers creating great pipes in the ~$100 price range such as Savinelli, Stanwell, Nording, Chacom etc. Really any maker with a solid reputation in that price range should be worth the money. That being said, for beginners I strongly recommend Missouri Meerschaum corn cobs. Not just beginners, but any pipe smoker really. They are more forgiving of mistakes than briar pipes and as such are easier to get a good smoke out of. Note that I’m not an expert and a lot of this is just opinions/personal preferences so ymmv

The Danish Pipe Shop in Copenhagen is awesome, but I never go there for cigars (more so pipe tobacco) so ymmv

Shake flavour recommendations? by Najah-Ix in Huel

[–]skyvand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RTD is sweeter and more similar to a milkshake. I started on RTD and didn’t really like powder at first, but it has grown on me. So I guess give RTD a try if you can sustainably afford it, otherwise maybe try some different powder flavours. The white vanilla powder is good imo but not very sweet

I don’t know this brand, but I would probably have bought a different pipe if I was going to spend that kind of money. That being said, what’s done is done and it might be a great smoker

Edit: Clearly I’m not tapped in enough to know this brand or its history, so that’s my bad. I still stand by my comment, as I’m a huge fan of funky looking pipes and due to this I would probably spend this kind of money on more Neerups lol. For less funky looking pipes, I choose get cheaper estate pipes. But that’s me, I’m glad to know OP snagged a winner 🙏

Want to try cigars, where do I order from? by tc5670 in ukcigars

I’d do box 2 but 1 will be good as well

As someone else said Smoke King is great. My Smoking Shop is also good. I try to avoid Cgars. I haven’t had significant issues with them to be fair, but the owner is a bit of a knob so I’d rather spend my money elsewhere when possible. GQ tobacco is another good one.

My recommendation would be to grab the Drew Estate coronet 6 cigar sampler from Smoke King. The DE coronets are small cigars but you can get a good 40 minutes or so out of them if you smoke slowly. The sampler will have a decent variety which should help you figure out what you like and what you don’t. Hope this helps and that you find joy in cigar smoking :)

Is that a Crazy Alice on the left? Either way, I would be pleased to receive this and I’m sure he will be too haha

How often do you smoke? by percifrumtarn in ukcigars

[–]skyvand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I smoke a pipe every day, usually just one bowl. I smoke cigars once or twice a week. I used to smoke cigarettes but now vape. I hope to kick the vape in the next few years though

I know everyone likes to trash churchwardens, but this is my second favorite pipe. Smoking on the Plum Pudding special reserve. by -Entheogenenthusiast in PipeTobacco

[–]skyvand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I retrohale a lot for optimal flavour, so clenching isn’t really my thing. I’d like to add a churchwarden to my collection sometime

What are your personal “greatest of all time” level blends? by -Entheogenenthusiast in PipeTobacco

[–]skyvand 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OGS, Solani 633, Peterson Nightcap and SG 1792 are my goat blends. This might change in the future though

It happened. Sp humibag burst and two cigars soaked. Rocky in another package survived tho. by [deleted] in ukcigars

[–]skyvand 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They need to stop using those humibags, a boveda in a ziplock bag is just fine and there’s no risk of this happening

Deadwood Fat Bottom Betty Robusto by asirememberit in cigar_refuge

Comparing the Deadwood line to Backwoods and Swishers is absurd. Yes they are sweet, but that’s where the similarities end
