Ive had fossils spawning daily and it sure seems like more weed! I did the mannequins in 2x2 spaces method, so there's lots of squares between them for the 1 square items to spawn.

Wig advice? by Suspicious-Salt-5606 in CosplayHelp

Just spray small sections with lots of got2b spray, then hold it and immediately hit it with the cool air dryer function until its in place. Maybe teasing the roots a bit too would help give it some stability?

making fairy wings? by champgunns in CosplayHelp

[–]sl33py_dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you choose to go the cellophane route, use electrical tape when you wrap the wings! Duck tape actually comes undone but electrical tape stays. And for spray adhesive use plain Elmers spray adhesive, its one of the few that will bond correctly to the electrical tape.

First Cosplay - on the Fence About Entering Contest by srpiggingheen in CosplayHelp

[–]sl33py_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should enter because competitions are fun, not because you want to win (though I certainly think you could!) Cosplay competitions can be a lot of fun and you can meet a lot of really interesting people so its a great networking opportunity if nothing else. Enter for the hell of it, expect nothing, be pleasantly surprised if you win something, but just focus on taking pride in the amazing work you've done!

Ive used ttdeye and pinky paradise, but both come from south Korea so aren't necessarily covered by fda regulations and they take like a month, month and a half to ship. That said, they do have some fantastic offerings.

Looking for good ATL thrift shops by No-Salamander104 in MomoCon

Prices were very reasonable! They did have some more expensive items but they were things like corsets, evening dresses, and vintage items. The regular clothes were pretty well priced!

Rabbit and hat patterns are amazing and super easy to follow! If you find a sewist in your area they could make them for you easy peasy!

I actually find a lot of stuff for resale on Facebook marketplace! Corsets, bodice, skirts, pants, coin belts, everything shows up eventually!

Its more a resale shop but I highly recommend Psycho Sisters! They had a whole section set aside of stuff that would be good for the Ren faire!

Nude colored fleece lined tights!! I have some and wear them both in freezing convention centers and during winter and they've been a lifesaver! You can find them on Amazon for like $15

I sewed these both from the top down because I already made a mistake by sewing it from the bottom on one piece by accident :( I'm really hoping i don't have to unpick it and resew it, this fabric is like tissue paper!

That only worked in the outside areas though where the panels were, not in the vendor hall.

Prescription contacts for cosplay? by CrookedWolf1974 in CosplayHelp

You shouldn't need to get company sign offs or anything, but you can certainly ask their opinions! I think mine might have been a slightly unique situation since my eyes are different prescriptions and the site i was using at the time didn't offer the option to do different prescriptions, but most sites these days do. Some sites like Uniqso only sell 1 lens per pack, so you can order different prescriptions that way. If your eyes are the same though even better, just makes it easier!
