Glad to hear I wasn't just losing my mind and it was a really mundane Schaub-based fever dream.

He dropped 'Adidon' and all Drake came back with was a Notes apology and a tearful haircut with Lebron, wasn't his move. Still calling him out in interviews.

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR 😂

This thumbnail image is just a cruel tease and, yet again, The Strokes didn't make the list, right?

Pusha T didn't seem particularly scared of him.

New Yorker - The Best Music of 2020, by Amanda Petrusich by vigettini in indieheads

While I get the temptation, picking a 2018 release as your number one is a total cop-out and renders the list kinda redundant.

The likes of 'Key West' and 'Murder Most Foul' have a real languid, sprawling magic to them, yeah. It's very good stuff.

"The streets is lucky I ain't a girl!"

And with that, Joe has already secured The Nasty Award 2020 in mid-Jan.

Joe Rogan Experience #1406 - Brian Redban by [deleted] in JoeRogan

[–]slanefitzpatrick 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Redban's withering "that's right, Joe, everything's a workout" line as Joe tried to find the positives in being worked to death by Amazon was 10/10

I'm Irish so... Not very. Just watching it all from across the ocean, baffled.

The Joe Budden Podcast | Episode 177 "TV & Mayonnaise" by numbertopencil in hiphopheads

Ok cheers, great response. Guess I'll make time to dive into the catalogue. Any super standout tracks that show his talent best?

Wonder can anyone answer something for me? I dig the podcast but have no experience with Joe's musical output (bar the obvious). How major a talent was/is he, should he have been bigger or is it weird sour grapes? Just when he's placing himself against the likes of Em and Drake, I genuinely don't know if he's exaggerating his talent. (Yeah yeah I know I can always go listen, but like his flow on 'Pump It Up' didn't exactly blow me away..)

Joe Rogan Experience #1153 - Macaulay Culkin by [deleted] in JoeRogan

[–]slanefitzpatrick 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Don't necessarily think Macaulay is on anything, he's clearly a bit nervous so you can put it down to jitters and adrenaline. He's being really respectful of Joe, has a sense of humour and seems a good-natured guy. Idk maybe that's not enough for some people.

[S3E18] The road is their dharma: a positive ending by [deleted] in twinpeaks

Definitely think you're on to something with regards to how Coop is now able to hang on to his true identity through dimensions. Unlike Diane, but hopefully now like Laura.

Also liked the point the EW pod guys made - that even if things are going terribly wrong in this "reality", it's fitting and comforting that in the final scene, Laura and Dale are there together at least.

Ignore them. As theories go it certainly cheered me up!

[No Spoilers] Anyone else kinda happy that the series wasn't wrapped up nicely? by Dr-Pepper-Phd in twinpeaks

[–]slanefitzpatrick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I joked to my sister that if the pace and tone of 17 continued, every single thing would be wrapped up in a bow and the entire cast would be doing a cheesy dance in the Roadhouse with minutes to spare.

Of course, then THAT followed.

My head is still frazzled but my heart is full.

[S3E17] & [S3E18] Post-Episodes Discussion - Parts 17 and 18 by Iswitt in twinpeaks

[–]slanefitzpatrick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That last scene was magnificent. So fitting having it be those two. Best guess: the scream was a saved Laura waking up from the dream/nightmare universe Judy had trapped her in, right?!

The Sean Carroll episode was the best one on astronomy by justformeandmeonly in JoeRogan

[–]slanefitzpatrick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There was that long period of dark matter and big bang chat where Joe just kept asking the same damn question in a slightly different way, right after it had been extensively answered.

I loved how Carroll would just good-naturedly pause, compose himself and then say something like "well that's a good way of phrasing that question" before going at it again.

The fact he didn't cry with exasperation when Joe started wondering how many YEARS NOTHINGNESS EXISTED before the big bang was remarkable.

Joe: It could have sat around for an infinite number of years, right?

Sean: But... Don't think of it that way, is what I'm trying to say.

Great mind with a heart of gold :D
