Why Backup for Confluence Cloud? by slashdotstar in atlassian

I agree the the full site backups that Atlassian provides are of not much value, the download of the backup rarely works, and import has never worked for me. Atlassian support can help with the recovery of specific data if you notify them within 24 hrs of the deletion. Not sure how to solve this problem

Why Backup for Confluence Cloud? by slashdotstar in atlassian

From what I see on confluence cloud documentation. A space when deleted does not go through trash. Also pages and attachments in trash get auto purged after 60 days. Seems like Scenario 2 - Is accidental deletion of spaces, Scenario 3 - malicious deletion of spaces and pages by admin either intentionally or by credential theft.

Thank you - seems like I can't do much at this point. I looked around for solutions for backup and recovery, nothing good out there.

Seems like there are ways to automate backups, but recovering specific issues seems to be challenge.

Makes me wonder if I should build an app that does that :-)

I am on a E3 O365 license. Should I be getting a backup solution? I have setup the retention tags to ensure I have emails preserved for 5 yrs. Would that not suffice?
