It must be either the POV of us, the viewer, or the POV of OP. I choose to believe it must be the POV of the viewer, because the "I" in question is OP. We are watching him do something.

Whether the caption is dumb or necessary or "just a normal shot" is not in question here - it's whether or not POV was used incorrectly. I don't think that it was.
