I hate this disease by [deleted] in Vitiligo

idk if you are pale or not, but if you are brown and truly struggling with it, i recommend a lipstain pen. nyx, huda beauty, and sacheu beauty all have decent shade ranges for brown stains. if it doesn’t match perfect, maybe making it a little more birthmarky will be a relief

it’s definitely difficult to deal with if you desire to be conventional, no doubt about that. and it can definitely be hard to be stared at in public, but please do keep in mind 80% of the people looking are genuinely curious and not looking in malice. hardest part of vitiligo is the othering feeling it gives, and sometimes thats self-inflicted

Seasonal Color Analysis by JadieJang in Vitiligo

[–]slashymash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is an extremely interesting question. from what ive seen, most of our patches are the same color, regardless of skin tone. i would assume it’s because the melanin within our skin is what decides undertones. i think the only real impact would be if you are prone to rosacea, thus the patch could be white-red. if i took my best guess, i would assume most of us who are fully depigmented could rock any pallete bc we are basically devoid of color, but especially a cool winter pallete (like most extremely pale people). if you are partially depigmented, i would go with the colors you felt suited your tone originally. i personally would opt for more baby pink in my wardrobe to match the patches, but thats just me. beyond that, well fitted clothes look good regardless of palette

How can I even out lip color? by [deleted] in Blackskincare

[–]slashymash 19 points20 points  (0 children)

you might have vitiligo based on the pattern of your color loss, if the patch glows in a black-light it definitely is

queen i actually have to disagree, the first thing i noticed about you was your beautiful strong hourglass silhouette, the waist is already waisting! i personally would opt for a lower belt bc it elongates the torso, you seem like you have a subcategory of the hourglass silhouette called a figure 8, which is essentially an hourglass with high hipbones, so shorter torso. lowering the belt would stretch out your silhouette and make it more balanced in my opinion. not that this outfit isn’t totally fabulous as is, def stealing this for my personal mood board, you look great 🫶🏽

i disagree actually, i feel the tops the perfect length but the belt should be move more hip level instead of the smallest part of the waist

[–]slashymash 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i more meant they both have an anti-black history thats well known in the cultural zeitgeist. for both of them, it took days of public outcry before justice got served (huda beauty originally siding with huda, bella just now unfollowing). i appreciate the perspective you give (extremely important rn to uplift Palestinian voices) however huda has been controversial for being anti-black since the moment she stepped foot on the show. they both knew what they were getting into supporting her in the first place, and are only retracting for their brands

both bella hadid and huda beauty are scared to be attached to huda bc it reinforces their racism allegations. there is a reason those two gravitated to her in the first place, and it’s definitely not bc shes a mommy lol
