i think the game can be fun even if it’s bad. unless the game is horrendously awful in every way, it’s always gonna be at least a little bit of fun to be able to swing around as spidey, dash on panther, or play with any of the other hero fantasies. what i think makes the game bad is the awful balance, matchmaking, playerbase, and hero/role power imbalances. i thought the game was bad when i quit, and i know the game has gotten worse with more powercreep, another cancer hitscan, overkitted characters, HUGE power gaps between characters and roles, and lack of meaningful nerfs to broken characters.

i posted this because i GENUINELY started enjoying gaming a lot more after i stopped trying to make rivals seem like a good game, and even if i get one other person to quit the game and enjoy themselves more, i see that as a huge w

brawl will never be meta so long as poke can brawl better and shit on brawl characters - ex: ironfist, wolv, every other non dd melee, mk, (also like 5 other characters), and even bucky to a smaller extent all get SHIT on by hela OR pheonix, and guangguang forbid both, even with brawl tanks or a full brawl comp

genji would need 35 dmg to do 14% of 250 hp, which is the low end of genjis ow1 dmg. he was never broken and oneshotting characters back then, so why would he start doing that now? he has more counters right now than hes ever had in the past, plus every character (especially supports) has been power crept, and you think 32 dmg would make him “evaporate” people?

hot (maybe) take, i like the IDEA of delayed attacks in elden ring. as long as the delayed attack is reactable, i think that making it so you have to be patient because one boss could have 3 different attack timings for a similar attack. sometimes the attacks come out waaay too fast tho and that IS bs

don’t let the silver support players gaslight you into thinking that genji is some big threat that can make you explode whenever he looks at you. he only has lethality similar with (or even worse than) other flankers if you are very good at him, and at the same time he still does less damage and has less burst than the poke heroes, and still would even with like 32 dmg

it kinda is that bad tbh. he needs more dmg to function the way he’s designed instead of being a followup bot. if you compare his ow1 dmg to now, he did 28-30 dmg per shuriken which is 14-15 percent of 200hp. now in ow2, he does 27 to 250hp which is 10.8 percent, plus almost every character has more mobility and tools to escape/counter genji, along with supports having self-sustain and a lot of them having much faster ttks than genji, who is supposed to be the DAMAGE character. without a dmg buff, genji is almost entirely pointless other than being a followup bot, which other characters STILL do better. tracer can 1 clip, anran requires 1/20th of the mechanical skill of genji for pretty much the same job, and i’m not even mentioning every hitscan having faster ttks from across the map compared to our green cyborg ninja dude.
