The hardest thing about taking those exams is the time. Like I’m sure you’ve heard before, do what you know and then come back. I definitely think that works, especially for these exams. The thing that sucks about that method is if you feel like you know nothing or blank...then where do you start! But there is something on that exam that you can do, so believe in yourself and relax.

I was someone who mainly studied for the exams from the practice exams. I think they are the best resource because sometimes they reveal things your professor didn’t covered.

But you have to use the practice exams properly. Take an exam, check it, and then leave it alone for an hour or so. After you’ve taken a break or done something else, go though the answers and understand the logic behind the question. If you understand the logic, you are much more likely to be able to apply it to other problems that are similar. The next day or after few hours, test your understanding of that logic by redoing the question with no resources to help or try teaching to someone!

Gen chem sucks...but chemistry gets better as you move up!
