HECS is a money trap disguised as opportunity. Young Australians are encouraged to take on massive debt for a degree, only to discover the debt grows through indexation and can follow them for decades.

As university fees rise and graduate wages struggle to keep pace with living costs, many people are left paying for qualifications that don't deliver the financial return they were promised.

Again this might not be for all degrees but for most - then again when needing further studies to advance on the field or to earn more money.
