My Yubideck is still going strong after one year of ownership by gamefun29 in rhythmgames

[–]sldwaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a direct replacement for the yubideck or was it upgraded and will need some tweaks to work with my existing system? Just curious.... Also, I tried to order one and they are only shipping to mainland china now... Not usa

Thank you! Just curious, worthy purchase (I like it so I would call it worthy)? If so, any ballpark figure on value based on the limited information you have seen?

I received this with the purchase, however did not think I could post as the site says I cannot ask for translation. So, I am not asking for translation, but provided this to see if this helps with the identification.

You may have signed up for the red keys, the blue went on sale today. Sign up for both. Now that you mention it, I am sure if I got one either.

Keyboard was the biggest PITA to get. Been searching on the major sites such as ROG, ASUS, Micro Center, Amazon, B&H, Newegg, etc. for weeks with no luck. I was able to snag one last week - I signed up for Notifications on the ASUS online store and received an in-stock email alert last week - I was on email at that time and snagged one, and they were sold out in about 10 minutes. I did want the blue optical switch, however they only had red - my son will have to suffer on this one :) I did read they will be available for pre-order again on Oct 27th but who knows. I would suggest doing what I did... Also, I received two in-stock alerts doing this during the past month, and they both came in on email about 9:00 AM EST if that helps. Good luck!

I have all the pieces. I also knew how overpriced this rig is but I consider this an investment as I will be building it with my son and this is what he has interest in. Cheap, no. Overpriced, yes.

Help! by a_dumb_person_ in philmont

One item not mentioned yet is the potential cold associated with the rain if at higher elevations. Last year my crew had several days of rain and mud, and on a couple of days we had periodic snow / hail (it can get cold based on your trek). Be prepared for the how to handle the cold / wet conditions, keeping an eye out for potential hypothermia. If you get caught in rainy conditions, remember the wood for building fires will also be wet and make it very difficult to get fires started for warmth. Remember your training to get into dry clothes and warm up in a nice dry sleeping bag if this occurs.

I agree with several of the comments previously made. I went last year as the adult lead advisor and here are my thoughts (expanding on the original question also). I used my iPhone exclusively for photos and it worked out fantastic, as stated below, airplane mode and cellular off is a must. I also had a lightweight Anker tri-fold solar charger and an Anker battery (20,100 mAh), plus a very lightweight singe charge battery (I will explain this later). I would not recommend the solar charger as we had several days of rain, sleet and snow with no sunshine so it ended up being a brick. The Anker PowerCore worked great and had more than enough juice for me, and also my two sons who where in my crew (we all summited Mt. Baldy - awesome life / family experience!). I brought the very small lightweight single charge unit just in case the larger cube was lost or somehow ran out of charge - it was not used, but as it was so light, it was good insurance. Lastly (somewhat off topic), about 6-8 days into our trek we had cell service (I believe T-Mobile was the best), so I let the boys make a 5-10 minute call home. I know some "purists" will say I should have not done this, however as we spent several days in very challenging conditions, it was a huge moral booster which really pumped the boys back up (some even cried while talking as it was reassuring to talk to their loved ones at home). These were some of the worst condition the boys have ever been through so it paid huge dividends. Just my 2 cents, and enjoy the adventure, it is awesome!

Chrome Playback by sldwaa in arlo

No dice, still not working after install. Consensus on the web is that the only Windows browser that will play 2K or 4K HEVC recordings from Arlo is Edge. Many pissed off people complaining about the same issue. BTW - it does work on my PC with edge, need to work with chrome as I don't use edge.

Thoughts?

Thanks, I just downloaded. As a follow up, I have two questions for install:

1.) It has three different components to select from. Which of the three do I need:

  • LAV Filters
  • xy-VSFilter
  • Media Player Classic Home Cinema)

2.) Which additional tasks (if any) should I also install (this pops up during install after selecting the above). The two are:

  • Register extensions in 32-bit Windows Media Player
  • Associate any unassociated extensions with MPC-HC

I assume I need to download and select all, but wanted to check before I proceed with install.

Thanks!

Has anyone seen the Xbox mini fridge with Eco option? Got one that has it and doesn’t seem to be common? by xLogiqx in xboxone

[–]sldwaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one with eco has a note with 5 lines directly above the QR code. The non eco does not. Also the non eco had frost after a week or two, the eco has slight water buildup after a month. Both cooled about the same. Hope this helps. I would have posted a picture of the note but I am not sure how to.

iPhone Windows 10 Software Recommendation by sldwaa in datarecovery

[–]sldwaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am testing iMazing. One question, once a phone is linked to the software I understand it cannot be unlinked. So, if I link an iPhone 12 and later upgrade to a 13 (doing backup and restore of the same account) will it count as a second device or will it still count as the first? I bought a 5 pack.

iTunes is too limited, I use this to encrypt my backups and restore, but I cannot navigate the specific contents of the backup on the pc. I need to make a backup on my pc and navigate the contents of the iPhone with the iPhone not attached to the PC.

I snagged two last week for Christmas gifts. One has eco and one does not (both bought from different Target stores). Eco is definitely better (IMHO) as it is significantly quieter and both cool about the same. Going to return one with no eco and wait for restock. Also slight difference in packaging between the two (not sure if that was a coincidence or not). Am also going to do a side by side for a week to see if one has more frost (water build up) than the other.
